I know two people from SA, one from Brazil says it's basically bad and currency exchange stings. Another from Chile isn't so bad though work for artists is hard to come by. But that's all I heard about, sorry ^^;. I hear Chile is a good place.

I can't really comment on central America as I don't know anyone from there.

The so called third world countries are actually great to live in, if you have a little money. Its not nearly as bad as people think. so much less trouble and people get down to living, loving and community. So much more freedom. I live in Africa and i won't trade it.
