Election day is next Tuesday, November 8.
I won't tell you who I think you should vote for - but I will say this:
The real target of rumor spreaders going on about the "danger" of furries and litterboxes in (non-gender) school bathrooms: gay and transgender kids, kids who have the temerity to be "different" from what those angry people expect or demand of them.
Those kids feel welcome and safe in our community.
The people telling everyone there's something wrong with being furry...aren't Democrats.

Then again, I've been getting like a zillion Emails everyday from Dems begging for contributions - it's evidently up to me personally whether or not our democracy survives...

I used to go with my mom when she voted. Back in the day NYC had these weird voting machines where you pulled a large lever that closed curtains behind you so you could vote in private by pulling down a little lever next to each candidate you were voting for. There was something exciting about closing that curtain that made voting seem like an adventure. (Unfortunately, by the time I was old enough to vote they'd gotten rid of those machines.)
I've heard that hardly any schools teach Civics anymore; a real tragedy, especially considering how much misinformation about this is currently out there.
There definitely is; always good to keep a skeptical head to sort through it all. Otherwise we're just like folks stuck in Plato's cave staring at the shadows on the wall and thinking it's real. As I've told my daughter, it's important to vote, even if the person you voted for doesn't win. If you don't vote, then don't complain about the outcome. Civic responsibility; without it what's the point of having a vote at all?
