My family and I just agreed to boycott Disney and disable all our accounts.
The remakes didn't make me do it, playing both sides on 'Don't Say Gay' didn't make me do it, but now they've crossed a line. In the meantime I still have my DVDs.
Likewise, and I think Disney realized, way too late this has blown up in their faces.
Deepdiving a bit here, this is what happens when media-controlling megacorporations, via their incestuous financial relationships with government, get to decide what "community standards" are for the rest of us. Neither Colbert would've been cancelled nor Kimmel "disappeared" if the corporations involved didn't have mega-$$$ media merger deals dependent on Trump's FCC thumbs up. (Carr, Trump's FCC head, wears a gold Trump profile lapel pin on his jacket )
You mean like the one linked above? BTW Colbert also re-animated some Diz animation to create a similar piece. (Don't have the URL in front of me, shouldn't be hard to find on YT)
i am glad that i was never used Streaming service and more somebody that like physiclal media how DVD and Blu Ray. But back to the topic about Disney big mistake to doing this.
Just cancelled my D+ subscription. When I got to the page where they asked why, I checked "Other" and let them know:
You know why! When you cancelled Kimmel, it was to protect your corporate profits from Trump's political vengeance. I refuse to spend a NICKEL on Disney or watch ABC as long as you continue kissing his (many people are saying) odiferous butt. If your Marvel heroes were actual humans, NONE of them would stand for what you're doing. LONG LIVE THE FIRST AMENDMENT! LONG LIVE JIMMY KIMMEL!!! Disney Inc., DROP DEAD!
I'm currently thinking of standing in front of one of NYC's larger comic book shops with a sign reading WHEN YOU BUY A MARVEL COMIC, YOU'RE SUPPORTING DISNEY CANCELLING KIMMEL.
Yes, the people have spoken! I watch his monologue the morning after on YouTube; I wish I knew someone closeby who has cable so I can watch it live. (Still not planning to resubscribe to D+ though)
