As for how Disney will pull it off, if I am to guess based on the woke playbook,
Hercules will be turned into a white incompetent buffoon who can't do anything right (unless they turn him black or make him gay) and he will play second fiddle to a "strong woman" (possibly of color") who will be perfect in every way and be LGBTQ+XYZ (because representation) and she will save Hercules while she reminds the audience of how oppressed women are in a mans world and remind them that they have to fight the patriarchy. And if there was any fun or joy in the original, expect that to be removed in order to push THE MESSAGE. So expect many buzzwords to be used.

Of course, this is all just a guess. But I know that it is going to be woke garbage because "modern spin" is Hollywood code for THE MESSAGE.

Or they'll race swap him into a black guy who happens to be gay because Hollywood loves to turn black people GAY.

The sponsorship and action figure jokes in the animated disney herc movie were amusing mainly because they were brushed aside after the gag dropped. It also helped that pretty much all the song numbers were done by the Muses themselves, if not featuring them in some manner. The only one excluding them being Herc's training montage.

We'll see how much merch Tik Tok Hercules can move off the shelves compared to the 1997 animated film.
Right now none of the live action schlock are moving much toys compared to the originals.
And they enjoyed such great theater sales . . . Guess normies don't buy merch.

Modern-day Disney really do be out here thinking it's still the '80's, I guess...when animated media's success was being measured by its ability to sell toys, quality of the show be damned. What's that saying again? "Casting pearls before swine"?
