FA has been the only successful place I've had as an artist, so I think you're in good hands/paws here! I get the worry about it, but honestly Twitter hasn't gotten me even one new client I didn't have here already.

Thank you! If Furaffinity really is a good place to set up shop instead, that would be a great backup. It's a lot different than what I'm used to in terms of navigating social media though so it'll take some getting used to

FA, with all it's issues, tends to be pretty stable. Everyone who's active will see your journals/posts if they follow you. People just often tend to lurk and be on the quieter side

I guess most believe it is easier to lurk than to make a fool of oneself with an unappreciated comment

I think a lot of people are overreacting to the Twitter situation. Under new management, of course the company will have a few transitory hiccups, but none of what I've seen so far justifies an "It's the end of the world" mentality. Musk is firing a lot of employees who were unproductive, lazy, and especially oppositional to his goal of promoting free expression on the platform. Naturally, they will need to be replaced with better workers, and that will inevitably take some time to execute.

Thus, I am doubtful Twitter is going to die. Even if it does, Fur Affinity & DeviantArt might be some good alternatives if you're looking for commissions. Some artists I watch have also set up Discord servers to host commissions.

I personally despise Twitter and have primarily conducted business with artists here or Deviantart. FA isn't perfect either but it's probably the largest furry-focused art site that's active.

I gave up on Twitter a long time ago since I've been having problems with it and I never figured out what

I found a lot artists I follow on twitter through FA first, so I think visibility is good here.
