*the hefty bird huffs for a long while, struggling to catch his breath after chugging down the carton of heavy cream. his chins smoosh together, fighting for space every time he opens his beak to inhale.

for the latecomers to the party, here's a brief explanation of what a mastodon is:
mastodon is an open-source, community-run social network! it's also federated, which means there's no one, central mastodon -- it's just a network of various instances ran by folks in the community. and the real fun thing is, since everything's open-source, anyone can start one, if they wish -- so, unlike twitter, mastodon can never be "owned" by anyone (or, for a purely random example, bought by any rich millionaires). c:
