Needing to upload images twice too post full-res images was always annoying, but removing the ability to post high-res images entirely is worse.

Previously, FA would downscale images until their longest edge was under 1280px, but would let you upload at full res if you edited/reuploaded the image.
After this new update, images have a pixel budget. The maximum resolution is 1919x1919 for a square image for free users, or 2880x2880 for paid users. At least longer dimensions are possible as long as you’re under the 3.6M total pixel count, I guess, but for both free and paid users, this is a massive downgrade from the previous true limit of 10MB.
This is a ridiculous change, as a 1mb 1000x1000 image costs exactly $0 more to host than a 1mb 5000x5000 image.
