TF Game Jam 2024 has begun!

If you've ever considered making a TF game, whether that's a video game, a text-only interactive story, a board game, a tabletop RPG, or any other form of interactive TF media, this is a wonderful excuse to try your hand (/paw/hoof/etc.) at it! I'll provide some free tools for making games below, many of which are new for this year!
If you've never made a game before, here are a variety of resources that you could consider learning, all of which are free and well-suited to people who have never programmed before!
For text-based stuff, I really like Twine, which is very similar to using FurAffinity’s text formatting tools to add italics or links to comments.
Another TF artist made what is, in my option, the single best tutorial for writing interactive stories in Twine: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/36277631/
From just the first tutorial you can make a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure-style story, and with all of them combined, you can start making fairly complex games and stories!
Now, if you're really trying to make a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure-style story (don't call it that or "CYOA" though, Chooseco will try to take it down), try Yarn Spinner for Books! It'll let you easily create PDF/printable path-picking gamebooks.
If you're more on the visual side of things but want to make a game like that, consider RenPy! It's the most popular framework for creating visual novels, and has plenty of tutorials available.
Narrat Engine is a brand-new option, intended for creating experiences that use a Disco-Elysium-ish style of text-based RPG storytelling with lots of room for text and visuals by breaking away from the typical format of a visual novel.
If you're more interested in making top-down exploration focused games for the GameBoy (+Color), GB Studio is a great option.
Of course, for a more fully-featured experience, Godot, Unity, and Unreal are all free for hobbyists as well!
For folks making tabletop games, I really appreciate nanDECK for creating and iterating on card designs. Being able to edit a bunch of cards at once easily is so nice!
I hope you all enjoy your time in the jam, making games is fun!
