Animated gifs are working for me.

I am also using FA Classic.

I can still view animations that are already uploaded, but when I try to upload a new animated gif it isn't animated.

I wonder if .apng files work?

.apng is vastly superior to .gif anyway. Exact same concept as the .gif animation feature, but with .png files.

They are supported by all modern browsers (except one version of Microsoft Edge lol). Better quality and smaller file sizes. Also has more than 255 colours.
