Hey, guys! perhaps you know, and I wrote about it earlier, we have quite serious problems with light all this time. our Street is not part of an important infrastructure, so turning off light to save frequent and long. every time the light comes in, it lasts a couple of hours, and often while I sleep. so my husband and I made a decision to buy a car battery and additional equipment to this. this is not enough for my PC, but at least I can charge the smartphone and we have a small led tape as light. and electricians report problems with power plants, so this situation will last long.
This is the forefront to the main: since the batteries are now very popular, the prices for it increased by about 200-250%, and this has been very much hit on our family budget.. Maybe one of you could throw me a couple of dollars of help now on my PayPal? obviously, I can't take the Commission now, and my current commissioners are waiting patiently.. but you can write your FA nicknames in the transfer notes, I will write it to my journal and make sure to draw you something cute in gratitude! because we have spent a lot of our rent..

There are a lot of other Ukrainian artists who have asked for assistance recently and some who need a lot of help due to frequent blackouts from the repeated Russian military attacks on the civilian electricity infrastructure across the whole country. Please consider helping to 'boost' some of their requests by making art or Journals with links to them.

it charges for about 6 hours, but it lasts for a long time, considering that there are four of us in the family:
4 smartphones and a small led lamp for the whole evening
EcoFlow costs an order of magnitude more expensive haha
now we wouldn't be able to afford it
My first thought would be to get an automobile auxiliary power outlet (also known as car cigarette lighter outlet, like this or this) and connect its wires to the car battery and then plug a typical car charger for the smartphone into the auxiliary power outlet.
The reason I am asking is that battery charging is actually quite complex because it depends on the battery chemistry (e.g. lead-acid, lithium-ion, etc.), the design of the battery (e.g. starting cars, deep cycle, etc.), the size/capacity of the battery, the charging objective (fast charge vs. maximum battery life), etc., etc. With many types of batteries it is important to not charge them too quickly or to overcharge them (lithium-ion for example tends to catch fire or explode if they aren't charged correctly and wet lead-acid car batteries can produce flammable or toxic gas if charged too quickly).
There are lots of different types of battery chargers, some are very simple and some are 'smart' chargers with electronics to determine an optimal charge rate. I don't know how familiar you are with all the details of battery charging, but it is probably good to warn anyone else who tries this setup that they need to get a good recommendation for a charger to use (and probably a recommendation of the best type of battery to use).

Also, I have learned that I cannot send many of the commercial battery power banks (like the EcoFlow) to Ukraine because they contain lithium batteries, but I might be able to actually send people in Ukraine other types of batteries by mail. So someone might be able to mail a person in Ukraine the parts to build their own battery power setup.
I don't know if it's possible to mail such heavy items haha.. besides, it looks very expensive
That battery looks like an automotive SLI lead-acid battery which is designed primarily for starting a car engine. There are other types of batteries and some of them might be somewhat better suited for what you are doing (although they might not have been available to you or the price might have been exorbitant). One thing to be aware of is that automotive SLI batteries can be damaged by deep discharge (running them until they are totally out of power), so you want to be careful to stop using the battery when the voltage drops below a certain amount. Ideally you would have a piece of electronics that automatically disconnects the battery when the voltage drops too low but a simple voltage gauge or even a multimeter would be sufficient if you watch it.
Deep cycle batteries (as opposed to starting batteries) have an advantage that they are designed to not be damaged if they are completely discharged. These sorts of batteries are often used in marine (boat) and recreational vehicles (motorhomes, travel trailers, etc.).
I suspect that a deep cycle Absorbed Glass Mat Battery (AGM) would be the best for what you are doing, but I would really need to do more research myself. Whether they are currently available in Ukraine or if they could be mailed/shipped is another matter.
