On Thursday December 29 (day 309 of the full scale invasion) yet another wave of Russian🇷🇺 missiles* (the tenth barrage since 10 October**) was fired at Ukraine🇺🇦. Initial reports from Ukraine were that the Russian military fired over 120 missiles at Ukraine (but later updates indicate 69 missiles with Ukraine claiming to shoot down 54). The cities of Kyiv, Lviv and Odesa were reporting widespread blackouts. Yet again many Ukrainian civilians will be left without electricity and heat in freezing weather.

Those who are most affected by today's attacks probably cannot get online yet to ask for help.

Engineers are working to restore electricity across Ukraine, with capacity limitations remaining in Lviv, Kyiv, Kharkiv and Odesa, said Kyrylo Tymoshenko, deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine. “At the moment, it is difficult for us to supply electricity in regions of Kharkiv, Kyiv, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kherson and Lviv,” said Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, the CEO of the Ukrainian utility Ukrenergo.

update, on Friday 30 Dec 2022:
"As of December 30, the power system deficit is at the same level as before the 10th massive Russian missile attack," Ukrenergo, Ukraine's national energy company, said Friday in a post on the messaging app Telegram.

update, on Saturday 31 Dec 2022:
Russia fired more than 20 missiles at Ukraine, with at least one person killed in Kyiv and multiple people injured in the Kyiv, Mykolaiv and Khmelnytskyi regions. 30% of Kyiv is without power on New Year's Eve. The news updates make it clear this wave of missiles was smaller compared to previous barrages. However, Russia also attacked Ukraine with a total of 45 drones overnight, the Ukrainian military reported on Sunday.

Russian attacks on Ukraine using exploding 'suicide drones' continued on January 1^st and 2^nd, with the Ukrainian air force stating they had shot down all of the drones Russia launched.
