Rabbit Rabbit! 2023?
Yeah, sorry for the inactivity of late with regards to my journal updates.
I have no excuse other than just pure laziness on my part to post these journals and update you all on what's happening with me.
And yeah, it's a new month and also a New Year, which coincidentally is the year of the Rabbit (according to the Chinese Calendar) so you all know what that means, RABBIT RABBIT everyone. Dunno what that is? Click here --> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rabbit_rabbit_rabbit.
Getting back on track, I hope to change my inactivity, by trying to post more regular updates this year. And speaking of which, wow, 2023, when did THIS happen? December flew by so fast, but that's how the Christmas Season usually is.
But yeah, December 2022 was rough for me, but more specifically 25-DEC-2022, Christmas Day. To make a short story long, one of our dogs, Kia, an Italian Mastiff, died. We're not sure if it was sometime during the night of Christmas Eve into the early hours of Christmas morning but we woke up on Christmas Day and found her dead in our garage.
Yeah, not the best way to start Christmas Day, I'll admit but I had to just suck it up and get thru the morning as my sister, her husband and two (2) kids were spending Christmas Day with us.
Of course, eventually, I had to just man up and decide to deal with the situation. So I grabbed my shovel and pitchfork and went out into the backyard to dig a grave. It wasn't easy as mastiffs are BIG DOGS so the hole/grave has got to be as equally big, if not BIGGER. Thankfully, my sister provided some assistance with the grave digging and once that was done, my parents and the family gathered around as we placed Kia in the grave and buried her. I really didn't have time to mourn after that, since it was Christmas Day and it was very busy, opening gifts, having the big Christmas Day meal, having family come over to visit, yeah, I didn't have time to think about Kia.
But after Dec. 25th, yeah, I slowly started to take in what had happened and accept the fact that Kia's really gone gone.
And it would be the little things that she'd do that I miss. Having her greet me by the gate when I got home from work, watching her drool in anticipation just before she's fed, even watching her wag her nubby tail, which usually would be her entire butt, when she was happy.
Yeah, even our other dog misses her.
But yes, i also try to reason with myself, to help grieve better I suppose(?), that as far as Italian Mastiffs go, Kia was OLD. When we checked her records, she was ten (10) years old when she died. We got her back in October 2012 and she passed on 25-DEC-2022. So yeah, it was just her time I guess. Nothing lasts forever.
So, to get my mind off of things, I went to the cinema and would you believe, the two (2) movies I saw, I thoroughly enjoyed!
Those being James Cameron's long awaited sequel, AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER and Dreamworks Animation PUSS IN BOOTS: THE LAST WISH.
Now mind you, I enjoyed both of these movies, but I gotta say, I enjoyed Puss in Boots more. Now don't get me wrong, AVATAR 2 is NOT a bad movie! Like I said, I thoroughly enjoyed it and can understand WHY it took so long for James Cameron to make this film. I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it (or aren't going too), but I'll say this much, yes I know it's all computer generated and special effects and whatnot but it looked SO REAL! And SO AMAZING! You really feel as if Pandora and the Na'vi are REAL! If you're a fan of the first Avatar movie, then I'd recommend that you go and see this.
As for Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, c'mon, it's like Dreamworks Animation MADE this for the furry community. The music, the animation style, and the CHARACTERS! OMGoodness! You've got the classic fairy tale characters but the one who stands out the MOST to me is DEATH! I'm not sure if that's his "name" or if he's the classic BIG BAD WOLF character? Maybe those of you who've seen it and clear this up for me? The voice actor for this character, Wagner Moura, did an OUTSTANDING job bringing this character to life, from his smug arrogance to his chilling whistle, I can see why the furry community is simping over this guy, which I'm not surprised by, seeing as how furries did this for the BIG BAD WOLF from Dreamworks Animations THE BAD GUYS. Oh wow, two (2) Daddies for furries to simp over. Oh my, Dreamworks Animations has it out for us lol! XD
But I digress, below is a clip from Puss in Boots: The Last Wish where Puss in Boots meets the Big Bad Wolf for the first time and I gotta say, it was thrilling.
Why can't *I* have a big bad wolf chasing after me too? 😩
So yeah, as far as January 2023 goes, what can I expect?
The new HBO Series, the Last of Us, which is looking surprisingly EPIC! If you haven't watched the trailer as yet, click the video below.
I can't wait till January 15th! I also bought the PS5 version of the Last of Us Part 1 so I'm excited to start that once I finish God of War: Ragnarok.
And speaking of video games, the Dead Space remake is being released on 27-JAN-2023. Now, I grew up with the ORIGINAL Dead Space, way back in 2008, followed by Dead Space 2 and Dead Space 3, so I'm very EXCITED to see how EA has rebuilt and remastered this sci-fi, survivor horror game from the ground up!

But yeah, that is what I am looking forward too in January. What can you as my watchers expect from me?
Well, apart from the more frequent journal updates, I would very much like to tackle my backlog of commissioned artworks and get those posted. Now, I've said before that my two (2) problems with posting backlog of commissioned artworks are 1) Laziness and 2) Lack of description.
Now, I can probably overcome no. 1) once I get into a routine but as for no. 2) , I would like to know from you, my watchers, do you particularly enjoy the little short stories/descriptions that are penned for each submission? Or would you rather just see the new artwork of Tiger and/or any of my other OCs? Please let me know as this would help me in providing a better experience for you all.
Anyways, that's enough rambling for me. Hope you all have had a great start to 2023 and hope I can be more active and consistent as January marches on!
