driving a car is easy! it comes down to one thing: if you're about to hit something, don't. there i just gave you the secret tesla autopilot algorithm
in all seriousness tho, driving (especially urban) can be stressful and nerve-wracking. it also opens up a lot of doors. i wish you the best of luck and here's hoping for a year of solid growth in 2023! \o/
I've avoided learning to drive exactly cuz I see way too much chaotic bullshit all over and think it would be extremely stressful for me to drive.
Thankfully, until now I never really had a NEED to drive since everywhere I need to go or want to go is within reach of a single bus drive or subway trip.
Still... My parents are getting quite old and it's best I finally learn to drive to help out in driving them around too.
It's actually a piece of cake. The only things you need to focus are stepping on the right pedals and look at your surroundings, including the mirrors.
I'll need it cuz all my experience driving cars can be resumed by 2 things "carmageddon 2" and "crazy taxi"... :B
PS: just pictured myself talking to whoever I'm driving with "HEY HEY! COME ON OVER AND HAVE SOME FUN WITH CRAAAAZY TAXI!" then start crank up Offspring's "All I Want" and just burn out. :B
I dread it being extremely frustrating cuz I just detest seeing all the crazy shit I've seen in traffic where I live.
But what can ya do... It's one of those things you just gotta learn and I've postponed learning it for long enough.
Same here, I've already started saving money for a car, but first need to go take some lessons and do the exam. The irony is that I already own a garage... it's like starting a book by reading the epilogue first xD
Well, I know a good bunch of people own a garage and use it as a workshop, so it's not that weird. XD
My dad learned how to drive a car and a motorcycle before he ever got a license. I just never had the opportunity to do like him.
I had taken lessons, I passed the theory part of the lessons with high marks, but I was registered to learn how to drive a motorcycle. The practical lessons were horrible because the instructor was very detached and didn't really instruct me very well, I was very discouraged and never finished the lessons.
I postponed learning how to drive a car cuz I would be required to do the theory half of the lessons and pay for the course all over again.
I postponed making my license as I knew, that if I had one, it would tempt me into getting even some cheap, old and used car. With all the insurance payments, fuel and maintance fees it would put a dent in my monthly savings, which would be bad, as I was saving hard to buy my own apartment first. So in the end everything went according to plan as I bought my own place in 2020 xD
