Special notice:
I know that not everyone is going to be completely receptive to humorous, one would think totally inoffensive, comments. However, I found the response I got needlessly hostile.
xxsparcoxx will likely have blocked me, by now, no clear reason, other than what can only be interpreted as having a troublingly bad attitude.
What precipitated this was a harmless humorous comment on https://www.furaffinity.net/view/50716082/ The Comment could be hidden by now, I'm not going to loss any sleep over this after I'm done here.
"A Snickers bar is not going to fix that." was the comment. In context to a character losing his sh*t about to go "Doom Slayer" on someone or a lot of someones, the comment was a humorous jest AT WORST. I am not going to try any further to clear the way. I think, but he may never tell me, he has been too busy being mad to actually have a constructive say on the issue, he believes I think the work is awful and he should fix it. THAT IS NOT WHAT I SAID. But again I do not know what is going on in his head.
If I thought it was awful I would say nothing about it, like 99% of the people who see his work posted on FA. His works have been good stuff without equivocation.
Look, I understand he may not get an American joke. Humor is specific to the culture. But it was never meant to be hurtful and I don't know if he does not know unless I say something. So the whole "then maybe you should never have said anything" is just a hollow, limp-wristed, cowardly argument to just stay way from everyone. We get to know each other by talking to each other. Sometimes wires will get crossed. Feelings may be hurt. But blocking people out for saying something with don't like or understand up front, will not clear the fog of ignorance away, and misunderstandings are not rectified, and life fails to get any better at all.
I have made my share of missteps and cause a fuss. But these were largely straightened up. It may not have always been a happy ending but I understood my error by that point. But it took an actual conversation. Not threats and warnings with no explanation why.
This is not the first time he has bitten me, and I would not doubt he has bitten others in this way. As it is, I am done with him. Blocked? No. It is an option I have not exercised in years and don't care to yet. He has not been deliberately and willfully hurtful for no other reason but personal satisfaction. That is the one line someone has to cross for me to block them.

She (assuming she) sent back a short, curt "No" and blocked me on FA from interacting with her.
A few days afterward she posts a journal saying that she would reject any reference with well-defined buldges and ban those using such refs. Um, why didn't you mention that when you opened for commissions?!?
I then hear that said artist acts very elitist and prefers certain repeat commissioners, and treats others very poorly. Fine. I drop all attention to them. They're not banned or blocked by my hand, as they have not crossed *that* line. But if they want to talk, they need to come to me.
I do not expect I will be treated kindly, but hopefully fairly, by Admin should it come to it. But I have tried to say my peace, what happened, giving some space for others to express their concerns on the issue (was I wrong and not know it?), and just walk away from it. As some saying something keep sit from gnawing on me. Good for self-sanity.
personally, i saw your comment, and it was funny, a harmless joke.
i assume that he either misunderstood your comments meaning due to a language barrier/different language/not knowing some slangs and jokes that exist in english, or he was looking for a fight.
either way, avoid that person. (thats what i would do, at least)
for the record, you're right tho, and you are a good person, doc.
stay cool.
