Of course. I have a set schedule for when I work and when I do my own things. If artists were only allowed to do commission work 24/7 it would be hellish for our mental health.
this is not a question of the appearance of personal works in general, but precisely at the moment when the artist has paid commissions, but they draws for themself. that is, two works in parallel, but not 100% attention for cmm work
You should be able to do whatever you want, whenever you want at all times. Work hours are always a set period, and then it shouldn't matter what you wish to do in your free time.
That's like telling someone they can't watch TV or read a book to relax after they leave work for the day.
