Laefa spam incoming, clarification on his gender
3 years ago
I'm going to be posting a backlog of Laefa NSFW art from the past 3 years or so. Some 20+ pics
I figured I should clarify something real quick though. I use him as a mascot and personal character, but he is mostly depicted as masc gendered with alternate parts. I'm not transmasc myself, and while I list myself as NB to a degree, I'm AMAB and masc presenting. I do not want to encroach on trans identities, particularly FTM. It is totally fine to relate to him or even like the idea that he could be trans masc! I just don't want to push that idea myself since it would feel incorrect coming from me, as my life experience is quite different.
Whenever I post androgynous characters, there are always reposters who will push whichever gender or context they like onto my art. I know I can't catch or prevent it, but in the event someone is looking for clarity:
Laefa uses he/him pronouns. He occasionally is depicted with different parts, but retains his pronouns. I don't consider him trans, but I am totally fine with people connecting with him on the idea that he is or could be. I would greatly prefer if people didn't take him for roleplay or swap his gender when reposting, but that's not something I can prevent

Cutest bird
Not quite a cloaca, and sometimes I just prefer to draw him with fully female bits instead of an internal dick (But that's basically never visible anyways)
Thanks for the response!
Did I mention I like birds
But I can't help but see some gender fluidity (think the kind the Protians from Pathfinder have) in him, partly because I'm wondering if I am.
Was also playing with the idea of some partners telling him "good girl" etc. It's fun to toy with
We're at the point where people get mad about presumptions while their identity is entirely based on assumptions, and I'm sitting here just trying to be myself the best I can be.
Additionally, while I've been seeing changes, expecting gender to follow through when certain genitalia are the only context to be taken from an image feels like a tall order, but I do think it's awesome that you're so flexible about it all.
A lot of times people will seek out others with similar life experiences, and I don't want to give the impression that I'm telegraphing that I'm someone I'm not. While people shouldn't use sonas to gauge who a person might be, it makes it a bit easier for both parties if I'm just clear about it this way
I personally see nothing wrong with creating a character to learn more about such experiences, heck, people do it in D&D all the goshdarned time. In my humble opinion it's great to research such things for your character, as you'll only learn more about the subject. And heck, in the end you're still working on fantasy, a furry world, so who knows how such situations are dealt with in whatever world you designed. People getting their panties in a twist over that should get a hobby. :V
Having said all that, I get your point, much too thoughtful of you. Preesh.
Nothing wrong at all with celebrating gender divergent body types. I'm all for it
Hes a male but he's very feminine, I find it relatable as I wish I could do/present the way he does
Hes prettty inspiring to me
And I think you also relate to him, to draw stuff you cant really do irl clothes wise~ ;P
I really enjoy the concept and design of Laefa and always excited to see more of him!
And I personally find it very refreshing to see men with other atically gendered features!
I'd say that if he's born with "female" genitalia, the most appropriate term would probably be 'intersex' or simply non-binary, though NB includes also people who are gender shifting or gender noncoforming so I tend to prefer the term male intersex or masc intersex.
