You and your wife are super lucky to crawl/walk away from that! And yeah, after an incident like that, you definitely will be on edge for a while, and maybe kinda anxious, but simple breathing and focusing on the current here-and-now can help. But some people have almost the opposite reaction and kinda become almost zen, which is great, but then you may need to be reminded to actually be present and more aware of things around you.

Yeah, I kinda oscillate between anxiousness and zen/disconnect. It’s all dependent on my surroundings. Thanks for the good advice. 🙏🏼

I had a bad scare like that a few years back. I hydroplaned into a concrete jersey barrier at about 50mph. Although the safety features did their job and I walked away. Thankfully they did their job in your case too.

Took me several months even with the help of a better equipped car to get used to wet roads again.

That is incredible luck, very grateful to hear you were able to walk from that. That’s one thing my car did well is protect us. Definitely getting an other.

As someone who was also inside of a car that got flipped on its roof, I'm terrified of ANYTHING that doesn't have the B-Pillar between first and second row, be it a convertible or an old-school sedan from before the 80's. Aside from that, it took years and years of driving to be comfortable again with being inside a vehicle without imagining everything outside of it suddenly getting flipped upside-down, it gets easier with time, and having a car with a lower center of gravity also helps.
