Help a Tech-Illiterate Dummy Out

So, the dragon wants to save up for a nice gaming desktop, I've already got a monitor that I think would work well, but when I look up desktops, all of these big numbers and acronyms like 3090 and GPU make my head spin. So, if any of you out there are more tech-literate than me, I'd appreciate recommends for a gaming desktop.
