If you want to cut ties with someone please be respectful and honest about it.

I've had 2 people (1 on this site and 1 on both facebook and discord) that cut ties with me completely unexpectedly and were very rude about it when either questioned about it or if they answered on their own.

They metaphorically became 2 totally different people from when I met and got along with them to when they cut ties with me.
