Life update - power problems + help
Hello!
So i've been living in Kiev for about 4 - 5 month now, and i want to tell you all a bit about the situation here.
Me and my boyfriend were renting apartment for 2 month in one of the areas here. It was fine - majority of the city was living on light schedule, but our building was "special" - we didn't have any shutdowns (there was a tram station nearby and the hospital, so maybe that was the reason) until one day in the early morning there was a drone attack on city.
One of the shaheds flew over our building - we could see the smoke tail, hear the engine noises and how our soldiers were trying to shot it down form the machinegun. Then we heard the explosion. After that all the buildings in the area were de-energized and the water pumps that were bringing the water to buildings where off because this drone hit one of the energy sources in this area.
For about 3 days we were cut from any heat, water or light source. Also it wasn't helping that our building was electricity based and not gas based. So we couldn't heat the apartment or cook some food. And the weather was not nice - it was like -10 С° outside.
So we decided to move out and return to our relatives house - they have generator and gas stove. The house is a bit overpopulated - 7 people, 4 cats and 3 dogs - but we have all the resources to survive this winter and we are together, and this is the most important thing.
Yesterday there was another mass shelling of Ukraine. My hometown Zaporizhzhia was attacked by 20+ rockets and drones - it is the largest attack from 24 February. Kiev was attacked too - we heard few explosions. In nearby regions few of the rockets hit the target - power sources. So the situation with electricity is even tougher here then before. A lot of people here can't afford generator or strong enough power banks.
If you can help - please, donate to these people - they need help now:
