I am planning to overhaul my introduction chapter. Instead of meeting characters in various places n chapters, which i found very hard for me to write/remember.
Would people loose interest if they don't get to pick routes early on in the game? Players can pick up stats, but it won't matter regarding to meeting up new cast.
Plot is a murder mystery. Route didn't diverge until the murder happened on day 2. Stats are given, so player can escape getting killed by certain characters, switch alliance before endgame, access secret end.
Originally, player will get to explore any 2 of 3 options before going moving on to day2, but then I found keeping track/writing separate lines for characters who player have /haven't meet is a nightmare. (Eg. Npc only appear in choice A, but not B or C, then I'll have to write a seperate scene for players who didn't pick choiceA on day2)

Retconing or a complete rewrite?
