I picked it up but haven't had the chance to play it yet sadly been to busy but its sitting next to me in my office as i type haha.
But i have a good friend who loves the series who LOVES it. She said it was a bit of return to some older styles of fe while still being modern and keeping with the modern era of FE choice(awakening forward). She said she liked how more "side map" or paralogue driven this one was giving her more to grind/do between story maps.
She said the game is worth it if you liked past fire emblem games in the modern era of FE.
She said that's a little vague, but she said they are a bit of a different vein of main character but that she liked them. They are different than a usual FE protag.
Also personally I like that its not forcing you to deal with a crapton of life sim stuff outside of battle. You have some, but you can completely ignore it.
I loved three houses but past the first playthrough having to redo half of the game was annoying.

The story is a little classic but if you have any nostalgia for the series it's still pretty fun.
