How much was the laptop? I'm curious.
Congrats on things getting better.

The laptop retails for about $800, higher when new, but I managed to get it for $420 from a local pawn shop. Every other laptop within that price range was too low-powered for everything, and everything else was too expensive. This happened to hit a really weird sweet spot, and it's a weird PC too. For example, the GTX 1650 doesn't work unless an external monitor is plugged into the HDMI, the built-in monitor uses the CPU integrated processing instead.

Also got my rent paid today too, but my electricity is still fucky. Slowly making due.

Sorry to interject, some cheaper laptops with dedicated GPUs lack a switch chip to prioritize the gpu correctly, but windows can do that, if a program seems to always run on the igpu, but iisn't runnign well, you can force it to use the dgpu by going into the display settings, then graphics setttings, on the buttom is a selector where you can add aps that you want to run on the dgpu, but don't do it on their own, and select them to run on the dgpu forcefully. that should help.
