The anime is flowing freely as I spend time on my exercise bike, and woooo it's keeping me motivated as hecc! I'm currently biking around 45 miles a day in 3 one hour chunks, which equals about 7.5 episodes of anime a day. :3
As a result, since getting my Crunchyroll subscription I've watched the following:
- Spy x Family. A comedy/spy caper set in a West/East Germany cold war analogue, with misunderstanding and cute telepathic kid shenanigans aplenty. Really enjoyed this, excited to hear that season 2 is coming later this year, with a movie in the works too. :3
- DIY (Do It Yourself). Admittedly I only finished this today so it's fresh in my mind but... uh, this might be my favourite anime I've ever seen? SO fucking wholesome and sweet, I was just grinning through the entire series. No stakes. No major drama. Pure slice of life goodness. Just friends in a DIY club at school doing their best. Also, Jobko-chan (sorry, I mean Juliet Queen Elizabeth VIII, lmao, best name ever) is such a fun character. Maybe I just haven't watched enough anime to know if this is a trope, but to see a US exchange student played by a Japanese VA speaking bits of English alongside fluent Japanese was extremely cute. "GOOD JOB!" :D
- Bofuri (I don't want to get hurt, so I'll max out my defence). Only started watching this today, but as a former WoW player stepping into my first of what I know to be a whole genre of MMO/VR anime... gosh it's fun to see all those tropes turned up to eleven. Only 2.5 episodes in though so plenty more to see. Also goddamn I wish any MMOs in existence were half that good, lmao. Ah well, at least we have Elden Ring! :o
I'll try not to spam my journals with anime rambling too often, but maybe I'll make it a monthly thing. It'll double as another way to keep myself accountable for my exercise too, since you know if I'm watching plenty of anime, I'm spending plenty of time on my bike!!
