i finished my comic

hey so heres a thing
after 20 years of updates and 771 pages ive...finished... inhuman

i still mean to do the epilogue and i still have cover art and an april fools page to go, and still want to redraw arc 4 for print (i lost a lot of progress on that when my ipad died... another reason i just... would rather not get pushed to digital...) but the actual story, the main plot, the whole like ~thing~ i started in 2003
is done
i feel a sense of relief but more of a sense of existential ennui since ive always felt like the comic and my continued life on this planet are deeply intertwined. so staying alive feels very strange now. more so since the whole cancer thing. will my timer run out when i finish the cover? when i finish the epilogue? after print copies are made? who knows. but if it runs out tomorrow, at least i've done what i set out to do. i finished what i started.

HOW ABOUT A SECOND SPIN OFF THO, following all the characters until their deaths, then picking up on their children's lives.. that'll keep you going for another several decades.
Ngl it feels a lil' sad and weird for me too, I won't get to be excited to see another page drop. I hope the freedom spurs you onto something more, because you're not done until we meet friend. It feels so long ago I started reading and fell in love with your world and characters, I don't want it to end. Maybe next we have to get this shit animated. If I scrounge enough pennies to get over state side, I'll march with you on Hollywood or something.

It's a very odd feeling isn't it. I'm very...lost without the comic I worked on, but that was nothing compared to inhuman. It's just such an odd, off feeling.

I remember meeting you back in Katsucon 2004 (maybe 2005), where I found out about the comic. I dropped off of it a long time ago, unfortunately (I have trouble with ongoing series...) but now I can finally go back to it.
i havent been there for so many years, even though i have friends who go regularly. oh to be college aged with very few living expenses and a spine that can take the abuse of sleeping on a floor again
