PC was taken out in a power outage

So story time! Yesterday a truck hit the power lines near our home, no one was injured. We did however lose power for a short while. My computer was upstairs in the office on sleep mode (I was finishing an assignment for university). Looks like the surge fried my PC. My husband did some testing and it seems like it is either the CPU or motherboard. He is working on a solution to restore my data and we will be looking into replacing the parts soon.
My tablet and everything else is fine so I can still complete commissions using my husbands computer. I backup my paintings thankfully so there was nothing lost, just my university work. I managed to rewrite my assessment overnight and submit it this morning.
We are all safe and fine, just wanted to update everyone and let you know I may be slow to reply to comments and events. Comissions will proceed as normal within the same time frame as I can use my tablet and software with my husbands work setup. I have two baking YCH in the making but it will not be until my PC is fixed that I can upload them or any of the art I have painted in the meantime.

It's very sad that you had to repeat your college work in frustrated emergency mode, but a great relief to hear you had your backups, and you didn't miss any important deadlines!
May you retrieve all the data safely, and get a new machine before long. Thank you for giving us this update!
Everything was retrieved yesterday and has been additionally backed up so I am able to continue to work uninterrupted on my husbands PC, very thankful my harddrives are all okay! We are saving for a new motherboard currently, with careful planning everything will be back to normal very soon :)
It is very harrowing to have your digital storage and processing capabilities compromised like that.
Very nice that you have a workaround to use until you can get your PC fixed and back in working order hopefully soon so you’re not left completely high and dry, but it’s understandable that you won’t be able to post as much in the meantime until that can get taken care of. Thanks for the update, and I hope things go well with getting your PC fixed! Take care and stay safe out there in the meantime!
