As someone who tried to kill computer components on purpose, I can tell you, that most of them are rather tough and can withstand some accidents.

Some parts just break a bit. Like one particular AMD gpu I had where part of its DC-DC power conversion has blown up. The card still worked fine though (I removed the broken components).

Everything really worked out! I changed the power supply and it worked ^^
