I hear you on that! Urm...I've heard that D&D Online, now that it's free, is kinda worth it...but if you can scrape together $20 for Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year edition, that's a great game that's very open...and likewise, if you want a newer game, Dragon Age: Origins just hit stores and is another big, long type of RPG.

I actually picked up Dragon Age and am working on it on the side, but there's just something about...multiplayer value, y'know?

I dried out D&D Online, and although I'm a very big fan of D&D in general, there's just...it's grindy. D&D is meant to be played over months and months with a group of people. I tried it out, and it took me DAYS to see leveling progress. And in order to progress, they kind of want you to do the same dungeon on Solo, Easy, Hard, and Epic mode. So you get to see EVERY dungeon FOUR times. Yay! ...eh, not for me. :(

I'm enjoying Earth Eternal ( www.eartheternal.com ) but it might have to do with following the game from its early stages of development, and being in the closed beta, it's in open beta now. Granted, has a bit of a furry thing going on, but, eh, even without that it's a solid MMO. A nice feature is any class can pick up healing skills, so that kinda removes that "My Group and I would like to do this dungeon, but we need a priest!" issue.
