Personally, I've struggled so dang hard to find a place for me on the internet. There's always some kind of petty drama going on with some website, somewhere. And it doesn't help that if you choose a website that you, yourself, enjoy, then it's probably got a small userbase due to aforementioned drama. So you have to balance your comfort vs. your popularity.

Sometimes I really wish the internet never existed in the first place, really...

yeah, honestly, coming back to second life has been one of the most welcoming times on the Internet I have had in recent memory. I don’t regret the Internet existing overall, I just think there are a lot of ways has changed for both the better and the worst.
