From Bad to Worse (Part 2)

So I took a 45 minute drive out to Canyon Country to an urgent care that would take my insurance today. Was worried they wouldn't, but sure enough they did. So that's good news. Was a really quick and easy process too. If this urgent care was in Palmdale or Lancaster, I would have been there all god damn day. So according to the doctor I saw, she thinks it's an early abscess under the groin that hasn't surfaced yet. Like a big pimple that isn't ready to pop. So even if they tried slicing into it, there's nothing to drain as it's too far deep and the skin is too hard to penetrate. She prescribed me some antibiotics and pain killers and said that they should be ready to pick up back in my town by the time I got back.
All was good and fine, until I reached the Rite Aid back in town. They didn't have my prescription and said to just wait an hour or 2. Sometime the computer blah, blah, blah. Pharmacist excuses. I went home and about 15 minutes later, some other Rite Aid called me and told me my prescription was ready. This particular rite aid was about 25 minutes across town. Wonderful. When I got there, they gave me the antibiotics but no pain killers. They said that was the only prescription they received. Fan-fucking-tastic. Right back where I fucking started. But hopefully the antibiotics work and this shit goes away.
Worst part is that if it persists I'm going to need to see a dermatologist. And in order to see one, I need approval from my primary Medical Clinic... who doesn't answer their phones, has no walk-in clinic, and my primary doctor is only in town once a month. Oh boy! I guess I'll see where I am in a week from now still trying not to cry from the pain. Thanks Doc. ^^

Yeah, getting medical care in the US is a joke. A bad joke.
