HAIL HOOTS
Sadly... I have yet to invest into the 'recommended' software for doing this. Nor have I trained on operating such software. To what I have seen on this field, the super budget 'drag & drop' stuff is not what is wanted. And having used the online free thing that my budget surfer computer can use is not even laughable for anything serious. I do have a higher end gaming PC ready for work such as this.
I do have a few examples of my editing over on my YT channel. For example, https://youtu.be/uOXxuwDStWg
It is kind of disheartening to learn that this type of work has been forewarned to pay upwards of $500 a month. That's like pocket change towards rent. So, after having learned that, I had pretty much discarded the idea. I do have a full time job and a needy home life. So, my schedule is a bit packed. But I do have this weekend off. Really should boot up the powerful PC at that point and see what the good software runs for. And Lord help me if the things are on some kind of professional pricing package per month like some kind of AutoCAD or PaintShop deal. That could be a deal breaker. I was also planning on digging up my old external backup drives that have some old con footage to train with. Not fully sure where that stuff is at.
In summary, I have years of experience. Started out with literal video tape editing and some digital work which was mostly done with M$ Movie Maker from ages ago. And I was never a fan of crazy A/B transitions like 'Star Wipe' this, that 'Star Wars screen swipe' that, Dazzler explosion between scenes ... kind of stuff. I can do what the software gives upon request. It was just never my style. I'm not desperate for money. So, my asking price for this service is quite negotiable. I have limits on my time to work with this. And I'm not ready to start from day one, as set up and learning is a factor. Though, I am fairly confident that with what I already know about, merging into the quality editing software shouldn't require too much of a learning curve.
