Been going on for years. Victoria's Secret is hit a lot - same with some other store chains. Coach handbags are stolen to order. Tide detergent is a commonly stolen item of all things.

I saw that stuff being stolen back in 1989. Worked for Toys R Us. Baby section was hit hard by shoplifters and employee theft

Last week I met my niece's husband for the first time. They live in NYC. He told me that many major stores are closing their doors because shop lifters won't be stopped or arrested so long as they have less than $900 loot.

Makes sense to me - how can you stay in business if everything you have is being stolen?
