You mean the artist? Went a little odd with all that talk at the bottom of their FA profile. Some of it has merit. Look at Facebook or even Twitter. XD They all lie and whatnot. lol
I was pretty curious about what happened too but reading the bottom of there profile desiption pretty much tells you all you need to know. primerally Disagreement/Negative stuff with FA admin
I had no idea Trunchbull left, it's so sad. It looks like from the fa page they didn't agree how fa is ran and how corrupt administration are.
Damn same, I was a huge fan of them, do they have any alternative accounts on twitter or any social media to continue to follow?
Yeah what they left on the front page pretty much says it all, and a lot of the points make sense. FA has been a pile of shit since I can honestly remember run by incompetent admins whose heads are in the wrong place.
A lot of Trunch's words speak true from what I've seen through personal experience or saw from other artists. The thing that sucks is it's hard to get away from cause this is literally where everyone hangs out.
She's (I'm pretty sure that they're a she) a really good artist. I particularly appreciate the wide variety to her work. I've been following her for a long time.
But she had long term grievances that she cultivated with artists and the administration here. Her post on her homepage demonstrates this.
She also stirred up a lot of this herself, and showed a lot of right wing and bigoted views, here and elsewhere. She has a pretty spiky personality.
There were a lot of reasons to think so, and they definitely know each other, but I was eventually convinced that they were different people by various accumulated evidence.
There were also reasons to think that Grim and Glitched Puppet/Purple Kecleon were the same person early on because of how Grim imitated their style.
Grim and Trunch are either the same person, or they've both actively made attempts to pretend to be, up to and including matching art styles, drawing the same characters, using the same aliases as each other, and one of them outright admitting it.
I don't know about recent stuff, but I know that a while back they revealed themselves as being very pro-cop in an incredibly assholish fashion, during the height of the BLM protests. I stopped following them at that point.
Last I remember they made some journal calling out some artist because they were butthurt that the artist added a dick to their artwork which the artist said was not a porn thing but a "part of life" thing (the pic in question was not sexual in nature from what I remember). And also something about "allowing others to attack" and "I remember why I hate this fandom" something or other, lots of whining. I managed to take a screenshot before they took the journal down for good.
Someone also told me once how they talked to trunchbull for some time, then stopped, then talked to them again and the response was "I don't know who you are" + block.
She was complaining that his art was really good, but just because it included a dick she couldn't show it to her "Serious Artist™" friends, in spite, of course, of the fact that plenty of art for literal millenia has included depictions of penises. It was a "Her" problem, not his.
The picture in question was amazing, BTW, as is most of the artist's work. She ended up deleting her comments after getting pushback from the artist and others.
Yeah that. I honestly do not care enough to remember details, only some whining about a dick lol. And yeah now you reminded me. "Serious artist friends" was such a line.
And yes I did see the art. It was real pretty and the dick did not bother me nor turn me into a "brainless sex obsessed furry ™"
They threw a shitfit if you said anything that wasn't 100% in their defense in this circumstance, too. I tried to explain, in a civil manner, why penis doesn't automatically equal smut, and tried to explain why someone might include sexual bits in work that isn't inherently sexual, but they repeatedly threatened to report me to the admins for for "harassment" before just blocking me.
No, they're not. The confusion is understandable. I've been watching both of them for a long time and I originally wasn't sure myself, but evidence eventually accumulated that proved they were different people. They do know each other.
Grim is a dude who fairly recently became a cop and lives in the Southwest, IIRC, in the US, and Trunch is a woman with health issues living in Europe and isn't a native English speaker. That journal was having fun with the confusion, and only fed it, and was deleted pretty shortly after it was posted.
Trunch is definitely spiky, and I heard from someone who's personally dealt with Grim that he's a jerk.
Grim claimed to be a different individual from Trunch a while back, even claimed on Kiwifarms to not even know them personally, only for them to "collab" soon after on a webcomic.
The two have drawn borderline identical images.
They have a history of fucking with people using alt accounts.
Trunch has used the name "OMUSUNDA"
So has Grim.
Archives of Shiny.Fun contain art that clearly matches Grim's style, and there are screenshots of that same website of them saying "Hi I'm trunchbull."
IDK what to tell you
They're either the same person, or they're both intentionally trying to lead people to believe they're the same person.
What was the collab webcomic? -That certainly wouldn't prove anything one way or the other in any case.
As far as those being the same character, there are definite similarities, but there COULD be explanations for that beyond them being the same person as well.
Trunchbull is definitely capable of doing many styles.
Grim started by aping Glip/PK's style (Quite well, may I add), but is quite capable of doing at least somewhat different stuff, but it's been mostly comic based stuff. At the beginning I thought Grim was Trunch because of her facility with different styles. I've no doubt that she could ape Glip's style if she wanted to.
There have been times when they were both simultaneously awful busy which would make it hard to believe that one person was simultaneously producing that quantity of distinctly different work.
Someone was able to figure out at one point that they were using the exact same paint program, (Like, the EXACT same by registation# or something, not just the same program) but Trunch claimed that she had copied hers and given it to him.
Trunch has always seemed to be an older woman with health issues, and to be mixed race Asian/White, living in Eupope, with a long history in art. Grim seems to be a much younger black gay man living in the US.
Probably the most convincing evidence I've that I've seen is that Grim seems to show a distinctly different personality on his page. The continued narrative of his studying to be a cop and then becoming one is pretty convincing and consistent, and differs distinctly from everything Trunch has said. Grim has also never shown the combativeness and petty argumentativeness towards other artists on his page that Trunch consistently has.
Why would Trunch leave here in a huff and Grim remain, if they're the same person?
I have had continued doubts and questions, and I've seen the definite similarities sometimes shown in their art, and at least some things that I've heard about their personalities. There have long been bits of evidence pointing both ways, and even given the assumption that they're different people, they've definitely sown confusion in both directions. If they ARE one person, they're AWFULLY clever about crafting different narratives about the two, and mind bogglingly productive. I'll always hold out a certain amount of skepticism as to their being different people, though, and you've definitely fed that once again.
The number of coincidences you're either directly claiming, or implying, is ridiculous.
Two people that have extremely similar art styles, draw the same characters, and have shared aliases, shared registration codes for software-
At what point do we invoke Occam's Razor here?
Unless you have anything to actually back up that they're separate people, I don't know why you'd insist so strongly that they are in the face of all the overwhelming evidence to the contrary.
They supposedly collaborated on TELL ME MORE, trunch said as much in their own bio on FA in 2019, according to archives of their page.
It's also worth noting that Trunch's very vocal disdain for FA staff, and some specific members (Jason, PK) is very similar to the kinds of things Grim says on their known KF account
I was pointing those things out as potential evidence on both sides. As I said, I definitely reserved some skepticism. I'll continue to reserve some of that in both directions.
I saw that on KF as well. I also saw the software thing there. I noticed someone who I was pretty sure was Trunch who had jumped on the Anti Glip hate train, which seemed in keeping with her personality. How do you know that that account was tied to Grim? -I was pretty convinced that it was Trunch, IIRC, but at that time I was pretty convinced that Trunch and Grim were one and the same, so my memory could be a bit fuzzy there. I think I even mentioned to Grim that I thought I'd spotted him on KF in a comment I left on one of his submissions here back around then. I do have to take anything I see on KF with a rather large grain of salt, though. It's an "Interesting" place for gossip, snark, rumors, and as a window into hate, but certainly not a particularly dependable source for most real information.
I don't recall seeing the claim of Tell Me More as being a collab between them, but as I said, that would only prove a connection, not that they're the same person.
When Grimart first surfaced there were rumors/accusations that it was PK/Glip floating around. Eventually, in the Glip thread on KF, a user outright said they were the one who ran Grimart. They're a long time and active user of the site, even donating to it. There's little reason to believe they just made it up for the sake of it based on context and their activity since.
Grim also responded to someone on e621 who was accusing them of being on kiwifarms, to which grim responded in the effect of "being on kiwifarms doesn't make someone a bad person".
Nothing 100% definitive but certainly a bit too much smoke for there to be no fire.
I won't deny that it's possible. people are weird, and can do some deeply weird shit If nothing else, the confusion seems to be promoted by the perpetrator(s).
Thanks for the very interesting conversation, in any case.
When Grim first showed up here, I also wondered if they might be Glip. They did a very credible job of copying their style for quite a while, but there were differences, both in the art and the tone of the stories.
There was one camp of people who thought it was Glip based on the art style, and then there was another group of people who thought it was Trunch because they'd copied glips art style before, if memory serves.
I don't recall seeing Trunch copying Glip's style, but I could well have missed that. No question she could if she wanted to. She's obviously a very talented and versatile artist. That's what attracted me to her work in the first place.
As a bit of a side note, coincidentally I just heard from a friend who has been connected with Glip for a long time, and gave me some very interesting insights into Glip as well as Grim, both of whom she dealt personally with for a long time on Discord, as well as another artist who's very influenced by Glip's style. I think she still communicates with Glip.
Also, Glip seems to be going by yet another new name, which I don't immediately recall, and identifying as male now.
also, the source you cited on e6 was quite interesting. I wasn't able to see that where I was yesterday morning. It would seem NMNY's posting confirms that Trunch and Grim are one and the same, but that Grim is their NSFW alt.
It also raises some very interesting questions: Assuming that they are a man, presumably in the US, why the longstanding charade of Trunch being a non English native speaking European female, and why the denial of it just being a NSFW art and comic alt and Grim's being a younger recent cop and male? -Really weird.
It makes it hard to believe ANYTHING they say. Especially considering their periodic extreme and odd outbursts and strange obsessions with petty grievance, it all leads one to believe that they have a rather psychopathic personality, at the very least.
Not only does the site admin confirm it https://e621.net/forum_posts/271988
Trunch personally did as well.
Tracked down that quote to the actual post it came from in another thread.
From what I hear, they were an artist who had a lot of controversy. They left FA, putting a rant on their page as an excuse. It's about 50% lies, with 50% truth sprinkled in to make the lies seem legit.
"FA is full of Pedophiles and E6 is run by Animal Rapists" or something to that extent is what he told me on Twitter when I asked by they purged their gallery. They deleted the post now it seems and re trying to act like it was never a issue.
Tbh, I freaking love their art and old animations but always struct me as very presumptuous and unstable. Took every compliment as a critique against their existence and seemed to have a breakdown every 2 years.
There's a constant confusion if him and GrimArt are the same person but I think they aren't. Style's to different and if they felt that strongly about FA and E6. Why would they continue to be active on them. They DEFFINITLY know each other though. And honestly hard to say if they're really even "friends". Give me more of a "co-worker" vibe imo.

Weasyl or sofurry as far as I remember
E: profile on weasyl empty, and sofurry seems to have technical difficulties atm.
maybe it was also furrynetwork
I think the user "Trunch" here was also Trunchbull (has the same text in the header, possibly an SFW account) and it has this twitter and this pixiv linked:
https://twitter.com/keisatsuyo

It's been too long, I don't remember their style, so take it with a grain of salt
Damn same, I was a huge fan of them, do they have any alternative accounts on twitter or any social media to continue to follow?
Not sure if active, mind. Leogarg has the other links I think.

Pretty sure she was just playing along and having fun with the confusion.
Wasn't the only right wing crap she said, either.
Someone also told me once how they talked to trunchbull for some time, then stopped, then talked to them again and the response was "I don't know who you are" + block.

I made a well reasoned response to that as well, but it didn't earn me any pushback or a block.
While initially it seem like they had issues with FA, further investigation make me lean on the side of "this guy's a wacko"
They had a lot of disagreements with the way staff have handled the website over the years.
Yes, they are. They even made a journal about it that they appear to have since deleted.
