A longover due wellness/rain check

General
Today I've decided to fast: only my meds and only black, unsweetened coffee for a total Caloric/energy intake of ~0 Calories. Yes, I am sadly, still using lots of caffeine, but at least it's via coffee, not energy drinks, and so it's cheaper, and much healthier...and I'm still trying to keep it under control. None of that crap for at least a week or preferably two, fingers crossed in hoping.
Obviously, I'm not going to do this longer than a day, for my own health and safety.
Despite being on roughly 840mg of caffeine today, it being late in the evening, my blood pressure was still in the optimal range of 119/79 heart rate: 80. Here's hoping I'm able to get off those bp meds by the next dr's appointment in September. Ditto for decreasing my somewhat high cholesterol and high LDL/increase my HDL.
And as I said elsewhere: My mood yesterday was killed because my vpn wasn't being a butt. Thankfully it's been fixed since late last night, so that's very good.
From March 19, 2023 to April 19, 2023, I lost 14.2 lbs. For an average of 3.2 lbs a week. All this from doing only 3 to 5 miles of structured, consistent (time of day, intensity, etc) walking every day; and being consistent with my diet, occasional hard fast day notwithstanding (timing, calories, protein, etc), the bodyfat is and should, hopefully, continue to melt off.
For a 35 year old, 5'9", 213 lb (as of yesterday morning) male, that's phenomenal.
If I keep it up, I'll have a BMI under 25 by September. For the first time in my life since I started high school. X_x Some nearly 20 fucking years ago.
I'm know I'm on the right track with my health markers. As I know for a fact that weight loss, especially fat loss, ESPECIALLY especially belly fat loss, is inherently cardio protective.
And based on the research I've seen by Menno Henselmans, and based about what I know about myself; about chronic full body inflammation being made far worse/caused by vicious visceral belly fat tissue, and how prone to issues with either too much cortisol (not to a point of it being clinical, but still) and how that and insulin reinforce either other's effects and by blocking muscle recovery growth signaling via too much noise to signal ratio and it's all made worse by having a huge gut. And how such fatness can easily cut natural testosterone levels by half or more. I'm of firm resolve that in order to truly build muscle and strength to the best of what I can, I have get lean. ~10% legit body fat before I start serious bodybuilding/weight/strength training.
I also know that protein weighted towards the end of the day increases the p ratio/muscle gain/retention/fat loss of weight loss (or gain) by a LOT. IIRC, 23% better, compared to something like 15%--20% on average from weight training. And drinking lots of water to keep from having loose skin, making sure to supplement with creatine monohydrate & cinnamon (to keep my insulin/cortisol/inflammation issues in check and to give me more strength-endurance). And to supplement with fish oil capsules since I'm losing weight so fast to make sure I get the benefits of those omega 3s. And a cheap, USP verified multivitamin as nutritional insurance.
Overall, I'm hoping to be 6 pack lean or even better, for the first time in my life, by the end of the year. Time will tell.
Here's to this being a good year after 2 years of absolute hell.

FA+

So...because there was a thunderstorm outside when I would be walking, currently figured, "well, I won't let this day go to waste" and am doing some strength exercises.
100 bodyweight squats (my poor leggies ;_; ) and about to do (or at least try to do) 50 push ups. X_x
Doesn't help that squats/my front thighs and my pecs have always been my weakest muscles. D: But at least I'm not wasting a day by not exercising, and using it to help bring balance to my weaker muscles.
So...that's a thing at least. I'm definitely gonna be feeling to tomorrow though, that's for damn sure. X_x
