That's terrible, I'm so sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, clients are less protected than artists and there are far more cases of artists getting paid and disappearing or ignoring commissioners :( It's a shame.

I've been there many times, it's why I don't let most commissions I get take over the 6th month period because of Paypal's buyer protection.

Stuff has been getting more risky with more people using Boosty though. .-.

I can imagine it since in fact it's site for donations and you aren't protected at all
btw Boosty is an unreliable service and I advise you to avoid using it. I know of several cases when PPal banned accounts for transactions through this service.

it is just barbaric enough that furaffinity admins get pissed and nuke the transparency (or call out) journals out of here because of the TRUTH

I am also outraged by this rule, it doesn't make any sense.
If a person talks about scammers and want to warn others, for some reason the administration considers it bullying lol, and ignores the fact that the person is a SCAMMER and maybe my warning will save someone.

When i started getting into doing more commissions one of my friend's ex (they were together at that time) commissioned me, and because i talked to him previously and we got along quite well, i thought i can trust him enough to let him pay after the work is done. When i sent him the art he kept ignoring me and everyone who told him to pay me... It wasn't a big deal as in your case, it was only around 20 usd or so, but still to this day i trust no one.
So i think it is very sad that we can't even trust close ppl anymore, only VERY close friends who you met more times irl

I’m sorry to hear that Ari. Sad to say, there’s someone here above me that did the same to me; they act like they are your confidant, then stab you in the back out of absolutely nowhere. All it does is harden and build on the innocent trust you want to have in others, only to realize its hard to trust anyone at all freely anymore.
