Hmm. I know its a bit of a long shot since you really like your Are You Ready stuff, but what if you got into some of the older, OLDER creepypastas? (e.g. Ben Drowned, Slenderman, you know. The old stuffs.)
It may not be your style of horror specifically, but I know it was always kinda creepy.

Well I've always loved creepypastas, especially ones that are able of telling intricate, compelling stories that can genuinely be scary without any gore or blood, and I've thought of drawing a couple of creepypastas in the past like Mouse.AVI or Red Mist, but I'm not good at drawing Mickey Mouse and drawing Red Mist would be kind of pointless considering Sludge Squidward is kind of similar in appearance (but not really lol) I've thought of drawing Max & Ruby 0004, but then it would feel to similar to the Sludge in terms of appearance.

Those are pretty compelling points with the M&R and Red Mist ones. Though I think is that the one where Squidward, you know. Yeah.
Uhm. Anyways, yeah, I remember the Ben Drowned story pretty well, actualy. I remember watching the full thing when I was younger (and easier to creep out), and it got me for a while.
