It is great if you are a creator with a story to tell. The community is very supportive by being patient, appreciative, and generous of whatever creators put out, and it is easy to get into without having to worry heavily about game design.

I think the furry fandom is a bad place to be if your goal is to tell a serious story that you want people to take seriously. Furries want cute things and sexy things.

I'm very fond of them; Visual novels are probably my favorite games to play due to the interactive story element. There's also a visual novel that can cater to just about any mood; slice of life, romance, humor, horror, adventure.. so many possibilities.

In most cases, comics would be much better for furry.

VNs are usually more talking and text than anything, and most wear out my fingers or the mouse constantly clicking to try and get to the sexy stuff or actual "Game" portions, if they even have them to begin with, as soon as possible.

I wish I can play them. I hear a lot of them have really good stories, but the entire gameplay experience just doesn’t gel with my brain at all.

Sometimes I briefly entertain the idea of making one, but how can I even hope to make one if I can’t even manage to check out what others have already done?

A good story is a good story; furry content is appealing, of course! The handful of furry VNs I've played have had great stories, and I've really enjoyed them.

I like them a lot in theory but I think the romance genre tropes so many of them are built on put me off. Admittedly, the medium itself is very well suited to romance stories but the genre is so prone to broken people hiding trauma from each other that I get very hesitant to pick a new one up. The medium favors static conversation so it's hard to tell stories with external conflict.

Absolutely adore them. I've always enjoyed reading stories and being able to interact with the narrative like in a visual novel is a lot of fun. Especially if you have an impact on the plot.
