Game Dev - GameBoy Success and Current Plans

As mentioned previously, my time this month has been productive. My main project stalled due to animations not importing into Godot 4 correctly, so I made a small GameBoy game for a friend instead. He liked it. So much so that we're expanding it. He's doing most of the heavy lifting, which is great for me.
As for my main projects. I'm still at a crossroads. Either ditch the short jam FPS due to it being more than 6 months late, or I press on and complete it. I'm leaning towards ditching it because the limited pallette is getting to be a problem, and working around the animation problems will be something that needs doing on all 3D projects that use animation.
Which brings me to my other projects. After the success of the GB game, I'm tempted to make a platform action game (like Turrican or Castlevania) or a top down action game (like Guardian Legend) featuring characters from various people. The game would be spy themed, but I could stretch the theme to make it work with different characters.
LQCTim Wolfn85 and evangellos all have characters that would fit the theme. If possible, there'd be a character select feature in the game itself.
I've also considered GameBoy versions of my main projects like the Leanna game or the VR dungeon crawl set in a liminal space esc endless office. Though those games would likely be too diluted and lose a lot, and the time spent on the them could be spent making the 3D versions.
Finally, there's apparently a GameBoy game jam this month. Might look into entering that.
I have options. As long as I'm working on something, I'll call it a win.
