Sadly the night means nothing: They can discover you posted something they don't like 7 years ago and ban you for that, happened with me last time. Doesn't even matter if the rules at the time allowed it: When they make a shitty policy change you're expected to somehow remember each of the 1000+ submissions some galleries have and delete your works from a decade ago else you get suspended none the less.

Not backpedaling was the "smart" decision for the overall plan. This just makes it look like someone's pulling strings to have someone else eliminated.

They are: It's a damage control update, desperate attempt to calm things down without changing anything. They still want to ban artists if they don't like the anatomy in their art style, using some unspecified "proportions" that can mean anything every moderator personally wants it to.

Yeah they'll target Japanese / kemono characters in particular, even if they well know kemono is a style and often has nothing to do their anti-cub fanaticism. Seems they want to turn FA into a personal gallery that only hosts a few genres and styles that line up with the personal likes of the admins, like it's some personal gallery for them and their club only.

Given kids seeing NSFW art before turning 18 is considered heresy worth being burnt at the stake for in their Victorian doctrine, no younger than 18 for sure since an admin would need full access to all content. Can see teens in they early 20's being behind some decisions and rule wordings: The behavior is consistent for sure, nothing that's been happening on FA lately shows any sign of maturity whatsoever.

So essentially they still want to ban artists for their art style and how they draw anatomy, literally asking you to use a ruler and measure some unspecified proportions on your characters. I'd love for them to take the next step into madness and provide us the exact length and diameter characters need to have: Give us the meters and the radians! How are we supposed to follow the rule if we don't know what to measure? I expect a brochure detailing allowed art styles with examples, maybe include shading and color palettes in case some tones or contrasts may also cause harms to society through a computer screen.

The interpretation is left strictly to how they personally feel about something: This reeks a deliberately vague rule designed so moderators can remove anything and anyone they personally don't like, letting "my personal feelings" be the ultimate judge over anything concrete. Hope no one makes the mistake of buying their cheap reassurance.

They've probably realized that the actual users they were targeting were going to find new places anyway, and that putting a blanket ban on small Digimon like Agumon, kobolds, koopas, and Yoshis and 60+% of pokemon was going to gut this website like a fish. That said, this backpedal may very well just be damage control and they aren't actually going to backpedal at all.

Thats what Ive been saying too about kobolds. THe entire rule is and its enforcement is so vague and arbitrary, its a downright shitshow.

FA is going the way of Tumblr and should officially be considered dead starting today: I suggest every artist to at least cross-post on other alternatives, some are still only here which is the one reason I force myself to still use FA in disgust. I follow you on Inkbunny and you have several alternatives so in your case it's good: If you can please look at decentralized options as well such as Mastodon, I feel those are the only safe future with the way all central platforms are going.

Honestly, I'm with you Kuro. I almost don't want to use this site anymore, but artists like you and ASaneMan have kept me around. Without you, I might jump ship.

I literally use FA in disgust just because some artists aren't available elsewhere. ASaneMan is one, Fidchell also doesn't wish to post their free content off FA except on Eka's Portal which also bans people for silly wrongthink. Kdanielss, RenaAyama, Acidic, S2-Freak, ScottCalico, Samanthaweltzin... so many more various of us may or may not know are mainly only here. I know popular artists tend to be annoyed and expect the worst if we contact them, thus I won't pester them about cross-posting to Inkbunny and such; Guess we'll just have to accept losing touch with them once FA finally gives its last breath on this internet.

Honestly, I used to frequent Eka's when I was around 18-19, so I wouldn't mind going back there, even if it is primarily for vore art.

I was a daily active member for over 15 years I think... till in some journal I randomly said something politically incorrect on a recent world event, banned immediately without her willing to hear out out any appeal. In a sense it's pains like this that got me used to more than I ever imagined I could get used to. I won't call Aryion a horrible platform for that reason alone, even if Eka's attitude toward me at the time was way overboard to say the least... just remember that despite the platform's scale it's mainly moderated by her and just like FA your fate is up to whether the admins (in her case admin) are having a bad day and what their personal views are.

Another really big problem i see is that if you get banned because the characters you have porn of were categorized as minors, this would also automatly mean that the person owns childporn and in places like germany, you will get raided by the police and all your electronics will be confiscated when they have evidence about you that you own childporn and a ban from a website because of having "underaged character porn" is already evidence enough and im VERY sure this also applies to many countrys around the world.

I just made a complaint ticket, if you think this policy is stupid I recommend making your own. Don’t write mean stuff that will just make them double down, explain why this change is such a horrible one.

Actually, this is a good thing. FA itself has demonstrated multiple times why you don't put all your eggs in one basket. Posting on multiple sites is the best way to ensure you don't lose your entire following over one site making a stupid policy decision like this.

A lot of people are flocking to other sites. With the exception of twitter, kemono/japanese-owned and BD-owned sites, many other alternatives are likely on a timer now.

What has been made here is a MORAL argument: it's to "protect the children" and to keep artists feeling "safe" from your OWN posts in yout OWN gallery.

This precedent WILL be taken advantage of to the fullest:

Purists will start calling FA "safe" and "moral" and other sites that don't adopt this policy "degenerate" and "using excuses to harbor CP" because FA has decided a moral question.

They will go after SoFurry and Weasyl for harboring "underage material in disguise" and make pressures to "get with the times" and "use a common standard" and whatever other excuses until they cave. They will go for Discord to update their TOS.

If they won't cave they will go after the payment processors and offer FA "the biggest furry art site" as an example of what "the furry community has decided" acceptable posting should entail, and I imagine it won't take long until they start caving.

Then they will go for the judicial system and Toumal from SoFurry may well wind up with another legal letter on his desk saying he must update the policy or face arrest when he travels to wherever the first legal letter of this kind he got from.

They will go ousting furry artists as they did with cub artists digging up pictures that don't conform to the new FA rules as a source of shame and pressure their friends, peers, or employers to act on their "breach".

They will hammer what has happened here today home until they force it as the only moral standard in the community and drive all non-conforming "degenerates" underground. Today this policy is fresh but with time people will start lobbying for it to be a moral standard. The true repercussions of both this policy AND the way it was worded are only just starting.
