New Rule is Fuckin dumb - WHERE IS MY BLACKLIST??
New rule is to vague and hits an absurd number of artists. And since it's so god damn vague I don't know if it hits me or not. Looks like it does? I don't know.
I don't think there is a single popular website who has this damned rule. This is so rife for abuse and we have no reason to trust moderation staff.
I did read the clarifications, but they're also vague.
And yet, AND YET, we still don't have a blacklist would help resolve the situation of people (a very small number) complaining about any random characters that look to "young" for them. Maybe don't follow those artists shitass? That's what people who don't want to see certain content have to do because of the lack of a blacklist.
I wonder what Dragoneer and "staff" could have done to improve the website in the time they took to write this rule.
Blacklists - Obviously
More robust Tagging system with a required minimum - helps protect against spam and enforces blacklist use.
Multi-image support for posts - Pretty basic option most other websites have
Better system for hosting animations - Animators still need to post quality animations off site. Cool. =/
Better Community Engagement - This one is a bit more complicated but still worth investing in. I suggested to Dragoneer several times over the years that FA implement a system similar to other social media. Particularly like twitter and others like it. A feed of content posts and small comments users can make that gets sent to a feed to be read and commented on. (again, like twitter) Dragoneer has mentioned in a reply on twitter that this is something FA is looking into. So at least there's that.
There are many other things I'm sure people can think of. You can go to the FA discord and look at the feedback and suggestions channel and see them. It's quite robust.
Here is a clip I took of a clarification provided by an FA Admin/Discord Moderator.

There is plenty here I take umbrage with, but I'll stick to three that really annoy me.
"- YES, characters in your NSFW art must be aged up." - How in the fuck do you age up a Pikachu? Give it longer legs? What about OC's? Kobolds? Nimbats? Characters who sole existence and bio is decided by their creator? How do you ask someone to age up someone who's already a fucking adult?
"- NO, simply making something bigger or smaller does not indicate age." - What does this mean? WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?!
"Section 2.7 of the Upload Policy has been in effect for many months with its current wording." - You're telling me, you potentially BANNED people for a rule that they could not know existed? A rule they had no chance in following? And mods decided to kick them out the door or give an infraction on their account??? Appalling abuse of the trust we're expected to give to the Mods/Admins and Dragoneer.
FA has pretty much censored all discussion on the topic by banning it in the Discord and on the Journal that announces this rule. So we're left to speaking about our concerns on FA in journals or tossing them into the ticket box so they can be ignored. Or unrelated social media/chatrooms.
In the discord ban it's excused by mentioning the topic is sexual in nature. Therefore it's inappropriate for the discord. THEN WHERE ARE WE TO DISCUSS IT FA? WHERE? Anywhere they don't have to interact with and read it.
Please feel free to use this journal post to discuss your concerns and let off some steam. (within reason please)

You, and a billion of your friends could all agree that a character looks fine, but if a mod goes
'Yeah nah, looks like a kid ta me'
You're fucked.
These very common, very reasonable features outlined in this journal would take less than a week to implement- especially now with AI-coding assistants. Back in 2019 when I also posted a journal about the VERY BASIC, FUNDEMENTAL FEATURES a site like FA should have, I checked on my own time how hard it would be to implement them, using WAMP on my PC. It took me just over two months to implement every single one of the features- from blacklisting, changing nicknames, to two-factor authentication and auto-removal of deleted fav's.
The simple matter of fact is that there is no qualified reason anymore that these features do not exist on this site save for brazen never-mindedness or incompetence. But let's tunnel vision on a single, hot button topic incessantly and... fucking... here you go plebs:
Have SHINIES ???

Forgot about Ai assisted programming and how helpful it is. And god damn, maybe they should hire you. We could actually get something done around here.
