Regarding FA's New Policy
First of all, I have to make this disclaimer despite it being rather obvious. All the characters involved in my artwork are above age of 18.
White it seems quite a redundant to make that statement, I think it's necessary to express my stance, as the one who draws all those artwork, on how my arts shall be interpreted.
Second, regarding my opinion on this change on policy. I do stand with the intention behind it. We don't want to courage minor exploitation, after all. However, like many artist who already make their stance, I believe that the new rules have serious flaw. Specifically, the term uses to define minor characters.
While using anatomy to define whether a character is minor or not works well for creatures that exist in real life, fanatical creatures, especially Pokemon and Digimon, are where such way of definition can cause some trouble. For example. As all of you might acknowledge, a Pokemon's age doesn't correlated to their stage in evolution lines. Pokemon such as Litten, Shinx, and Poochyena, unless with clear evidences that points out otherwise, are commonly regarded as mature characters. At least that's how I see it after years of interaction within the community.
The recent rules amendment creates potential risk of NSFW artwork featuring those characters to be removed, and the artist that drew those artwork in the first place being suspended or banned. While it's promised that other evidence aside from anatomy features will be considered, hence why I made the disclaimer in the first place, it's not guaranteed to always be the case. As sentient beings, we all have bias, so do those who are put in charge of judging whether characters are mature or not.
Now, what will be my action regarding this change?
Due to how vague things look at the moment, I won't post any arts here until further notice.
While I already make it quite clear in disclaimer, the potential risk of my account being suspended is still there. Just in case, here's my Twitter, where I'll be posting all my arts on for now.
Update (5/21/2023)
As more information surfaces, I will say that concern of various artists are justified. Clearly, there's a rather huge thought gap between the community and the staff responsible for the task of judging whether an art involved minor characters or not.
With that in mind, I've made the decision that unless if there's any positive change regarding the policy, I'll no longer posting any artwork on this site.
It's also likely that at the last week of June, I'll voluntarily disable my FA account.
You'll still be able to find me on Twitter, where I'll be active on from now on.
