They kind of backtracked on the anti-trust laws through various legal wranglings, hell monopolies may not be strictly legal but things just as bad are still allowed all the time. Most states you're given very limited choices between two or three ISPs if you're not in a large enough city, and even then you're getting shit speeds versus the rest of the world. Sadly most of the modern internet wouldn't exist due to those businesses, since many of the original 'backbones' were military and education driven but it wasn't until businesses saw use that it expanded to this level.

The policy just seems dead on arrival, it is simply impossible to outline what constitutes "adult" or "child" proportions for the thousands of species people depict. That fact, and the huge community outcry against this policy gives me some hope.

its impossible to overstate how tired i am of this fuckin debate. fifteen years now it's been going on. there is no way to please everyone. they could have just put in tag blocking and let the people who don't want to see stuff not see it. but no thats too easy. they chose to do this shitstorm of poorly executed vague policies dependent on moderator whimsy. its so goddamn tiring

It probably wouldn't work. Most of the people who are vocal against cub stuff do not want it to even exist, regardless if they actually see it or not. Blocking filters or not, they'll just keep causing their repeated drama, until all cub stuff is purged from here, then from the rest of furry, then from the entire web. They honestly have that level of hatred toward us. And, it is tiring. Their goal is to totally sterilize the web, and society of all that they don't personally like.

I don't think FA mods would know this, because they're the sort of furries who are just 100% incurious about the natural world and only know the animals you'd find on a toddler toy, if that, but Axolotls (for example) are an entirely paedomorphic species. They have traits of baby salamanders and retain them their entire lives, in addition to being kinda like fish in that they only reach full size if there's enough space. Axolotls are a real animal species that theoretically triggers this policy.

In addition, plenty of other species are paedomorphic, and plenty of furries tack on paedomorphic traits to their OCs, like adult white tailed deer sonas still having spots. They *really* do not get what the fuck is so wrong with the "Vibe Check" style of moderation.

Also this policy doesn't cover things like, I dunno... an adult male character that is mentally 12 or something, IE an actual child that's been aged up in canon through some sort of force? Which is a less common trope than "1000 year old loli vampire", but IS a trope that's arguably just as fucked up morally.

what about when they're not minors? its full of gray areas and policing head to body ratios and relative cuteness. its absolute horseshit and dependent on moderator whims and its frankly a little infuriating that they are devoting so much effort to policing some goddamn lines on paper when there are way more important things to concern ourselves with. also being accused of pedophilia and "involving minors" has gone from the last resort and the worst thing you could accuse someone of, to being thrown around with gleeful abandon on everyone and sundry, in the service of bullshit political goals. FA already doesn't allow cub porn and hasn't for years. but they are moving the goal posts again, to now delete shit with adult characters, that some mod somewhere thinks might be too similar to cub porn, and where does it fuckin end?

I've seen plenty of "ABDL" art that absolutely features minors in sexual situations. I've reported more than a handful of "art" that was nothing more than extremely perverse material, or thinly-veiled political activism for harmful ideologies. All of my concerns were waved away with the contentless "this doesn't violate our code of whatever".
I don't trust the moderators any further than I can throw. Some art is less easy to distinguish whether it's about minors or not. Removing art with characters that are clearly adults is a bridge too far, though.

on one hand i understand the concern given i was abused very badly sexually and physically as a child and there is a lot of art work over the years I've seen that makes me super uncomfortable. and i can understand they don't want the image Inkbunny has I nuked my account there when Pedo M.A.Ps and other horrific stuff started to show up over there in the Tags for art and alot of it being diaper art I wasn't going to black list my fetish tag there.

but to go after adorable innocent Baby fur art because it has diapers and thats a fetish on a child is a very very very far reaching BS policy they they know will be abused by people who just hate that type of work.

I understand the right for Fa to make money to keep the lights on and keep this place going but this also goes against everything furry stood for. we don't need google's money and we don't need money from corporations. the furry fandom has always been a self supporting system given how a lot of media makes fun mocks and takes every opportunity to paint the furry fandom in a negative light.
honestly if Fa would just make simple updates like a block tag function and allowing multiple Alts edits of art to be posted on one post vs posting 3-20 different alts of the same art work one at a time and did ACTUAL LIFE improvements for the artists and fans of artist to navigate more streamlined I believe money from the fandom would roll in more regularly. but FA wont do that that would mean actually highering folks who know what there doing.

I don't actually know that FA is banning diaper art - i don't think they actually are - as I see it its mostly applicable to pokemon and digimon porn of the early-stage characters. but its just so vague and indeterminate, and just gives the mods license to ban anything they don't like that day, or if they are in a bad mood, and its incredibly frustrating to encounter that kind of vagueness and just Not Know

it feels like a YouTube creators policy Vague and far reaching but does not really tell you anything or really outlines much past these proportions are not allowed anymore. did not mean to leave a word salad.
