From my experience I wouldn't bother there admin is terrible and run a tag what you see system.

Even if your the owner of a character they ignore you. I had many pictures mislabelled as shemale just because there was no visble vagina and they refused my request to change it despite being the owner

Imo their tagging system is the best/most accurate that exists.
If it misgenders someone that means less to me than the ability to actually find a piece by searching by it's appropriate and visible features.

The admin team and a fair number of users on e621 have their heads pretty far up their asses over what should be what.

I respectfully disagree. I'm still malding over Amione being labeled a dickgirl when she is and always has been clearly herm as a kwuff; then arguing with tween-year-olds over my own OC.

I mean that's totally fair. You can't have one solution without affecting the accuracy of the other.
It's much easier for me to find a piece by someone based on what I remember seeing in passing compared to their story and I think that is what they seem to think is better.
At the very least they do seem to honor DNP requests quite well and that is more than most people could ask for.

This correctly identifies a major problem with e621 and it's admirable for you to be so respectful about it.

I would respectfully say that e621 has one of the largest collection of actually used tags, and are sufficiently enforced to make them useful. However, the 'tag what you see' thing that cannot be overridden by the original artist's intentions and some of their... somewhat 'troublesome' tags that are focused wholly on sexualization can rub people the wrong way, rightfully so.

If any other site actually used tags like e621 does in terms of completeness, description, and consistency of search it would be great. Inkbunny's tags are... okay... but the actual tags themselves aren't particularly well maintained for re-usability and there's no 'synonym' function built into it so there's a bunch of hanging tags that are used by just a small handful of people that should be linked to a wider body of work.

Been a while since I've tried tag searching on Weasyl.

FurAffinity's tags are an afterthought and completely freaking useless. The don't even use standard tag formatting, so large numbers of tags are just a badly parsed multi-word tag that was formatted wrong for this specific site.

honestly I prefer that. They're fundamentally search tags, tags used for searching. Someone searching for X should get stuff that looks like X to people that don't know the characters. If someone searches for "female", they're not looking for male characters that identify as female, for example.

I don't mind if some of my herm chars are occasionally tagged as what they are not.

Because it's not a personal art site and uses a visual search system, not metadata outside the image. Sigh, at least there's lore tags now, and you can always put it in description. Using them as a primary art site makes no sense as it's not setup for it.
There are Mastodon instances and similar that seem more appropriate. Although I have to wonder what is going on with Pawoo. Pixiv, what you doing there? :Facepalm:

No. Hard no. Staff at e6 are actual screeching children and have zero respect for content creators that aren't giving lipservice to. Did you know they recently banned VOICE ACTORS from being tagged on files with VA sound?

Nope, sometimes they ignore your uploads for 30 days and it becomes "auto deleted" because of it.
and its more "What the admin/Mod" sees worth allowing, not real freedom.

It is rather sad how much these good intentions can screw over so many had another artist I know have to purge 200 pictures just because the character was small so admin saw it as a child :I

To be honest, the creation of Postybirb has been a godsend. I'm able to post to SoFurry, Furrynetwork, Weasyl InkBunny, and now Itaku at the same time. Been using it for a good while now; I wouldnt' have dreamed this was why I needed it.

The answer is the cannibal MIGHT let you live in order to provide him with something other than food, while the administration will DEFINITELY ignore the "shortstack is allowed" rule by simply claiming "those proportions aren't adult enough" if an artist crosses them at any point.
