Is vore NSFW?
Given the recent pantomime that has occurred in the community with the latest changes to FA’s TOS and rules, I am confident that this is a question that has been raised about this and several other interests in the past few days by many others, even if only as a fleeting thought: Is vore (or any other similarly aligned interest) NSFW, and if so, where is the line drawn where it crosses into that territory?
Personally, I would say there is no concrete answer to this, as sexuality and interests among people, us included, are entirely subjective. Plenty of us on this site don’t even like vore, or TF, or paws, or whatever else you can think of to add to this list, and yet to others it can be one of the most attractive and gratifying areas of interest for themself and their personal desires. I believe when FA labels such things as vore as a “non sexual area of interest” they mean to say that the direct activities involved within the most common form of vore posted on the site (one being consumed orally and whole by another, for lack of a more concise description) do not inherently involve or invoke arousal or sexual gratification in the vast majority of everyday people. The same principle extends to virtually any paraphilia or fetish one can find; if at all, some like it more than others, and for different reasons. To say that vore implies a sexual desire toward the act of someone being consumed is not necessarily true all of the time, as the term “vore” itself has reached a point of ubiquity on this site where it’s often used to describe the simple act of one living being eating another alive, sexual desires notwithstanding.
To put it in as simple terms as possible, whether vore is sexual or not, per se, is dependent upon the context and implications involved with any vore related media in question (obviously any variants of vore involving genitalia to any extent are inherently NSFW, but that should go without saying). It can be anywhere from completely benign to utterly depraved depending upon the intent of the art, roleplay, or whatever other medium it’s depicted through. What might not be sexual for you could be extremely arousing for someone else depending on one’s opinion. As the saying goes, to each their own. Though, as a result of this, I would strongly caution against any minors getting involved with the subject of vore due to the presence of people that do derive sexual enjoyment from it.
If you were to ask me if vore by itself is a sexual interest of my own, my answer would be no. It is certainly a field of great curiosity and peculiarity that I am drawn to, but on it’s own there is no sexual context that I personally am able to interpret from it. However, I do recognize that there are both many people that do derive a sexual context from such, as well as many others that are quite repulsed by the concept entirely, and consequently I always consider vore as a mature topic but not necessarily “adult” or explicit (and will label any content related to it I upload as such).
Setting that aside, I do have a backlog of art that I will try to work on uploading every so often, so I hope you all look forward to that!

P.S: Just in case anyone thinks about bringing it up here, the topic of why CP is being cracked down upon over minors being depicted in vore or other such things is an entirely different discussion that I have no desire to be involved in to any extent, so please do not make any mention of it here; this is not the topic of this journal and frankly it makes me quite uncomfortable just to think about. Thank you for understanding that.

The more any piece of media leans into the intimacy, the stronger the potential connection to sexual feelings.
In terms of individual experience, the answer varies from person to person, between moods, and even depends in part on conscious choice.
From a content moderation perspective, anything drawing attention to the intimacy of vore, leaning into it in any way, or having other elements (character role archetypes and dialogue tropes for example) commonly associated with erotic material, is and should be labeled NSFW. Or at least, that’s the easiest and safest place to draw the line. Mods could carve it up further, to cut out friendly and familial types of intimacy, or the more protective style of scenario, but those aren’t safe from sexualization in the slightest.
its like very grey area. but deffintly not something kids should pictured in. especially not in a page like fa where ofc people view vore as a kink and use it as such.
I was into vore years before being on FA, and it started when I was a child, watching TV and playing with my plushies. It wasn't nsfw at all.
