Sad thing about Weasyl is it just never really caught on. I tried to keep at it as long as I could but it was always just depressingly dead for the effort I was putting in. I don't see a lot of people moving back there now, even with so many migrating from FA again. It's just one of many options that only a small number are trying.

IB seems a lot closer to FA in terms of activity, it just needs more people there to balance out the current 'focus' on cub. I think every site allows content that's not palatable to someone, but it's certainly an improvement in my book that they allow users to filter that out based on a blacklist. And when artists are lazy enough to not tag such content, the users can do it for them. It's all-around a better setup, IMO.

Aw dang really? I just couldn't keep up with it, but it's sad to hear that since I remember my time there being pleasant, honestly Pillowfort is kind of the same, it feels like Tumblr before it shot itself in the foot, but unfortunately it had a rough launch and feels like no one went back sense.

Weasyl is indeed quiet, but I've always considered it a really chill and reliable place. It's basically FA but without the subjective rulings and insane moderation. If you're chasing views it may not be the best place, but if you just want a safe and reliable place to host art? Might be one of the best places for that.

People have been talking more and more about it lately, though. If everybody bothers to use Weasyl just a little more and not worry about its activity level right now, I bet for sure said activity levels will go up. (It takes a bunch of people to go ahead and start using the site more before it can have more people using the site, after all.)

Yeah, spreading out art to multiple places is probably the smartest strategy! I've always just been too lazy for that sort of process myself. But it really is the best path if you can set up a multi-site-poster program and such.

I feel that, hard to keep up with one site let alone like five, and I can't help but feel multi-site-posters feel less... Personal, but it is a good idea and easily less time consuming, hmm...

I'm confused about the whole situation. Can someone explain to me what is going on with FA?

Put simply: FA Staff has started saying Pokemon/Digimon/Cute art styles can be considered cub due to the proportions of the characters, two examples they gave were Eevee and Agumon. They would be removing and/or banning such content and it's creators. This was met with incredible backlash (Amusing considering they said it was well-received) and so now they're just flailing about with many addendums, and creepy contradictions that at this point I don't even know what they're planning on doing.

Seems a bit unfair to me. I feel the age of a character should be based on... you know, AGE? Not body proportions?

I'm probably one of the few people who is quite okay with the new TOS update, after they finally elaborated on it, though I can certainly understand how it would negatively affect others; especially content like yours.

The main reason I am satisfied is that they decided to classify vore in the way I've always seen it; as an innately non-sexual subject, meaning it does not fall under these restrictions unless something else makes it sexual/NSFW, which is content I avoid anyways. That said however, I do worry that your content may get pegged as NSFW simply because it is Full-Tour; a rather uncommon topic in itself, so goodness knows how rule enforcers will view it.... I do hope you don't get affected by this rule, as your art is often quite cute.

The idea that the proportions of a fantasy creature like a Pokémon equaling it's age is ridiculous when it's been common knowledge that evolution doesn't equal age since forever. Worse, how what is and what isn't targeted seems to be based on bias and style. It really reads like they've not elaborated on anything past how ridiculous what they've said sounds out loud.

That's not a problem to me, as I personally believe fetishes like vore should be marked as at least mature regardless if there are lewd bits or not. While I get not every depiction in media is done so sexually, on a furry site in which people focus on the creations of it and called it a fetish, I just don't agree it should be marked as general.

I think for me, the reason I hold the belief is how I came into liking vore as a subject. 24 years ago when I was but 6 years old, I feel for the idea as something for providing comfort and protection (as it hit my imagination that way, in the times I saw safe vore in games and media). And growing up, it never developed into a sexual fetish as I believe I have quite the broken sex drive. Hence, I am glad that I feel like I can enjoy it without the constant moniker of having to be a sexual deviant for the thing I liked since I was 6.

That aside, the way they determine if something is forbidden or not is very annoying, that is true. It essentially falls under a "If I say it is, it is", and if modern governments have proven anything, it is if you allow them such power, they will, given time, abuse it. However I can also understand that SOMETHING has to happen, as FA is no doubt under outward pressure to crack down on CP, be it by a government or a search engine, payment provider, or any other entity; they probably cannot leave it the way it has been.

I understand that as like many my interest awakened at a young age and I know that not everyone derives sexual pleasure specifically, but the idea of publicly showing it as general is just super uncomfortable to me as it's in no way something I would consider showing in person to strangers or co-workers regardless of it's context.

Very true, though it already feels like the power trip is happening considering they can say this was well received to our faces yet clearly it's not considering the instant massive backlash, there's zero transparency. Well FA should crack down it I agree they just need to focus on the ACTUAL problem and not make wide sweeping changes on a whim...!
