Only place I browse for art is FurAffinity, Artstation, and e621. I dont think it'd hurt to use a batch posting app like Postybirb to post to multiple websites in one click.

In terms of furry specific websites... I think Inkbunny has some potential... I think its about 10% the size of FA, but is so much more feature rich than FA. SoFurry still exists too but it's userbase is smaller than Inkbunny

I think DeviantArt is still going strong too

I recently heard about Itaku.ee, seems to have some potential as well and also seems more feature rich than FA

Sadly deviantart is mostly a ghost town by now heheh. Also them making bold moves on AI made me sure I do not want to return there.

While I have never been a fan of twitter, I am sorry that Elon's destroying of the site from within has the side affect of hurting the livelyhood of artists like you Ano.

Since none of us can really see the future, I think the safest strategy is to diversify what sites you upload to as much as possible, hopefully with the help of an autoposter like postybirb. With luck, one of the ones you pick will take off.

I don't make so much art to use autoposter, it's faster for me to just upload it by hand x) but you are right, will probably choose one or two more places and just uplaod there bit by bit!

Its not about making enough art to use one. Postybirb is just really good for crossposting so you can do multiple sites at the same time.

Mastodon is my main alternative/replacement, and I've seen other people saying they've been getting much better engagement there. No algorithm(which has both advantages and disadvantages) and searching is via hashtags mostly. It's kinda like early Twitter, where retweets are how things spread, though the "local server" timeline is also a blessing if you take the time to find a server that fits your interests. My only real complaint is that I wish people would be a bit more descriptive on their CW on adult images.. a lot just post "NSFW" or the equivalent and nothing else, so I won't know if it's a subject I'd like or not until I unspoiler it.

People talk up Bluesky, but it's not fully launched yet, and most of the rest work differently than Twitter, if that matters. I think between Discord and Telegram(as some artists have set up a broadcast-only Telegram channel) you've already hit the other main alternatives I've seen fur artists move to.

Gallery-wise(because social media is NOT conducive to keeping a gallery) I personally regularly keep an eye on FA mostly these days, but I've heard promising things about Inkblot. SoFurry I've heard rumors is getting its revamp fully out there soon too. But a big thing I'd suggest is look at setting up your own website. That way you have a place totally under your control that you can direct people to, and you're not reliant on any of the gallery sites sticking around.

There has been so many new websites popping up lately I'm always a bit sus about them - uploading all the stuff, filling in profile etc. takes time and most of them usually die off pretty quickly :(

Honestly, I am not ever browsing art much on social platforms such as Instagram and twitter. they're garbage. My favorite to check out content daily is here, Furaffinity. Other than that I browse neocities, where lots of artists exist as well. And Subreddits on Reddit. As well as Tumblr. They all feel more niche and cozy to me.

The only ones saying it is dying are those who want it to die. The only ones who are claiming it is becoming more open to Hate, are those who have lost their absolute monopoly over speech. Which happens to be the same people.

The thing is: the ONLY way to know what is actually going on, is to look for yourself. You cannot depend upon anyone else's word, not even mine. I know a number of artists on Twitter from Deviantart, and they are sailing along nicely on that site.

Oh I am not deleting my Twitter or anything, just a lil worried it might actually pop away one day. Still hope it doesn't though, I'm a big beast of habit and I still scroll through it whether my timeline is chronological, or falling apart

The only actual social media I am on is Mastodon, so... That would have to be my answer.

Perhaps meow.social which has attracted a lot of furry-kind of people. Otherwise there is mastodon.art though that is all sorts of things that would fit under "art".

There is also dragon.style for, well, dragons.

Speaking as a denizen of dragon.style, it's a good server.
dragonchat.org also a good one.

I'm late to the party, but defs Mastodon. There are lots of good furry instances, and artists seem to like it - I regularly see posts where people claim they get a ton more engagement than they ever did on Twitter, even if they have a smaller follower count.
