Дико плюсую потому, что итак политика везде - от газет и телевизоров до просто разговорах на улице и хотелось бы, чтобы на сайте, который, блин, предназначен для выкладывания артов и прочих вещей, связанных с творчеством, был бы отстранен от такой темы. Тем более, когда люди итак везде друг на друга кидаются, особенно на русских просто потому, что они русские, не понимая всей ситуации, что никто тут ничего не способен поменять.

Way I see it, regular every day people are just victims of the propaganda they are exposed to. This happens in most countries these days. In whatever they are led to believe, they are told "you are righteous if you support us".
Does that make every day people evil? No, not necessarily. When it comes to a point where atrocities are committed, and a person does so willingly and knowingly, that's where the "evil" label can be applied.

It's so sad that the most base emotions that rule human-kind, fear and ignorance, are being weaponized and used against the people, by the few.

But, even with that...the simple fact remains: That every person wants generally the same thing. To live a good life, to live a safe life, to have a better life for their family.
If we could all see that, maybe these crazy politics and propaganda wouldn't be needed.

100% agree. I've taken to just looking at the art, and skipping the comments, and pretty much all journal entries...except for artists I respect.
Too much politics out there. World needs more art and happiness.

I feel this, like, I get people are mad at Putin, but blaming the entirety of the Russian Population as if it is a monolith feels...wrong. Like I know plenty of people here, who are Russian artists that are very afraid for their families, friends who have been drafted into this conflict, who oppose Putin, but have no means to really fight their government.

The United States has also committed its fair share of military problems, and we were not being labeled like people are labeling Russian citizens.

It is just sad to see, I would have hoped that there would have been more solidarity brought for the people who know what Putin started is wrong.

Any time this stuff comes up I always feel like I need to share Carl Sagan's "Pale Blue Dot" commentary/speech/monologue to remind people that there is no signs that anyone is out there to save us from ourselves and it is our responsibility to deal with each other in a more compassionate and kind mindset.

Oh, so wisely said. I agree. Also... You dont have to worry about anything 'out there' while you dont read or listen to 'news'. You're talking to a "person" who openly praised the "DPR" terrorists cause they allowed to loot the warehouses in Mariupol(see her earlier journals) and a pro russian collaborator(the solid chance of it). Russians deserve everything they've got on themselves, you just don't see or don't want to see what they're talking to each other and especially to Ukrainians when no one else see them. And that ignorance looks like you already gave them indulgence just because those "artist" whining a lot. Many of them support the war and their military, just not here so they wouldn't be banned for it. Also russians "drafted to this conflict"(what a good word for a genocidal war against Ukraine) are the war criminals, period. You have no idea how much of this crap I've seen within the last 2 years, including propagandist scum and praising the annexation of Crimea in 2014, btw go ahead and ask your dear friends what they think about it

Is the Draft in Russia any different to the Draft that US imposed on its people, shipping them off to fight a losing battle in Vietnam?

Many people were for the war but many people were also against the war in Vietnam. Is it so unfathomable to you that many people who live in Russia are opposed to the war but have even less means to speak up against it because of their more authoritarian leader who wants to delude the population through propaganda much like how the US also used its own propaganda to commit its own atrocities.

Also I re-read the previous journal, and if you read the context of the situation, you'd know that as a civilian trying to the flee an area, if someone is handing out resources that could ensure your survival, you will take them regardless of who is handing them out. You can clutch your moral and ethical principles all you like, but until you have lived through such scenario, I don't think you can claim to honestly know what someone's reason for one thing or another is. If you have lived through such a situation, lost many of your loved all in the span of a few months. Then maybe you can criticize someone 'stealing' supplies from the enemy.

Hello!!! How? I wish you could repost but I consider my page very unpoliticized place. I had quite a lot of hate of taking any 'side' tho I belong to both, actually :C And trying to start my own life... again (for the 3rd time)... after back home. How do you think is it possible to help and not to get a strike from random people after I start support not both but only one 'side'?
