MOUZ-MARCH, Commissions, Coming Soon (6-8-23)
UPDATE 6-17 2023:
A quick update before the next journal. At the moment I will need to take a few more commissions in preparation for a big change, so look out for that next week. I'll only be doing cheaper/quicker work, so prices will be lower as well. The current commissions will be finished during the same round.
Before anything else, here's the queue:
Queue:
1. Private Soft Paint Commission (PAID) (Final Character Detail, 75%...) (Completion this week)
2. Soft Paint Via Discord (PAID) (LINEWORK WITHIN 1 WEEK)
3. Digi (PAID) (LINEWORK WITHIN 1 WEEK)
4. Berry(PAID) (Soft Paint) (LINEWORK WITHIN 1 WEEK)

This went on much longer than I intended due to everything else going on, but I'm really happy I got it done. I've been wanting to tell stories for a long time, and I finally feel like I'm at the point where I can do that. This one was largely written on the spot, and while there was a general outline of where every choice would lead, I improvised a lot based on what people seemed to like. The last few pages in particular were extended to provide more of a narrative and resolution, and judging by the response it was definitely a good move.
The artwork was also very experimental; I've been working on these sketchpaints for a while now, but this style of color is one that is still evolving. I feel like I'm in a transition phase as far as my art goes, and that does mean I'm often unsatisfied with large aspects of my pics. I change things frequently in the work process and you can see that stylistic change occur as the series progresses. I took a lot of inspiration here from some of the retro anime sources I've been looking into lately, and I'm starting to feel a cohesive look developing. Most of all I enjoy the expression work I did here, especially in the second half where I start to exaggerate and deform in a more obvious fashion. I often feel like my artwork is very stiff, so I spent time on these pages trying to make looser poses and more flexible facial structures--judging by the comments, this seems to have worked for you all as well~ Future series will continue to experiment, especially now that the process of making these pages has quickened.
For the next of many thanks, I want to say that I really appreciated the engagement on this series. I expected maybe 4-6 votes at most but ended up around 9-12 each time, which made each vote a lot more interesting; I was never really sure what would win out, and some surprising choices ended up being made. I really didn't expect the hot springs to win that one vote for example, but I'm glad it did because the page was a lot of fun and that one in particular turned out to be very popular. In the future I'll be setting up some more votes around these series, such as which character or setting you'd like to see. I think the next one will be urban/road themed, or maybe a little gritty sci-fi, but it'll be a while before then.
As far as the choices themselves, I wanted to keep the light-hearted tone of this story, so I made sure they didn't have strong consequences as far as the ending went--the end was planned to always be a sort of triumph, with some visual changes based on your choices. That said, the choices you picked definitely veered the closest to what might be called a 'bad end', and I did consider just going through with that more than once. In the future, I would like to do different endings, including failure/bad endings, though how those play out tonally will depend on the tone of the story.
This whole experiment was a lot of fun, and there'll definitely be another in a few months or so. In the mean time I will do some short/one and done adventures, so do look out for those and if you'd like to see certain characters, settings, or themes, do let me know!
On Commissions
For the time being, it looks like I'll need to take a few commissions each month to augment my income. Once I have a few more from this round finished, I'll be open for 2-3 more, and from then on I'd like to do 2 each month. If you're interested, we can set something up in advance, or if you'd like a package deal we can arrange that as well.
Art Trades and Collabs
I'd really like to do some art trades soon; I was originally planning to look for people to do it early this month, but I just don't have time for it at the moment. That said, if you're an artist and would like something from me in a sort of exchange, let me know and we can set something up. I plan on reaching out to some people when I have more time, but I'm happy to set something up in advance or do something very quick and easy now if you'd prefer. This goes for collabs as well, paid/for sale or otherwise. So if you'd like to do a YCH together or just some sketches or other, let me know and we can figure something out.
In the future I'd also like to buy a few commissions from people I know, but I can't really do that kind of spending right now. In general I'd like to try and get out of this shell I'm stuck in--really talk to some more people here~
Coming Soon
Wayward Butterfly is in progress again! I will be slowly chipping away at the remaining assets and dev work in anticipation of the next release. I've started posting updates on itch.io again, so if you'd like more info you can see it there, I'll also be updating on Twitter soon.
My other collaborative project is finally entering proper development soon as well, and I have to say I am so happy to finally get some work out there for this one. It has been immensely frustrating having to constantly push this one back, even if the same was true for the rest of my projects. Updates on Twitter soon~
Comics? I'd like to start doing comics soon, probably starting with some short one-offs to gauge interest. Keep posted.
Finally, there are still a few things on the backlog that have to get done, so I'll be working them into my schedule soon~
As always, thank you so much for supporting my work! It is really uplifting to see faces both familiar and new following my work still, and I've really needed the positivity of late. Honestly, life kinda sucks, but this helps a lot, so thanks so much to everyone who faves, watches, comments, subscribes, or just takes a peek at my work--I really appreciate it1

Your style is unique, and watching it being experimented is just a lot of fun!
