So after an interesting exchange with a coworker last month, I'm starting to lean more towards going to Vancouver film school in the fall and taking classic animation. It's something that I'd had in the back of my mind for the better part of this year, I'm just uncertain if it's the "right" choice.
What I want to do is talk to some people actually in the animation realm, hear about how they got to where they are and how I could best achieve my personal creative goals. There's absolutely positives to going to school for this type of thing, but it is a massive financial commitment that I rationalize as being a bit of a gamble (Tuition for one year at vfs is $25k, which is more than I've spent to get my geoscience diploma over 4 years combined. That's not accounting for the cost of living, which in Vancouver is astronomical.), but at some point I need to break the habit of chasing the dollar above everything else.
If anyone reading this is an animator, or knows one, drop me a line! I'd love to have a chat and poke your brain :3
