The worst dating advice anyone can ever give
2 years ago
So first off this is my personal opinion and second I didn't feel like responding to https://inkbunny.net/j/485521 because I wanted more input... but I feel I should at least say this
The journal links to a video of chikin from Chikin Nugget and Friends asking how people get into relationships. and of course everyone in the comment section single or not gives their advice on how they got together or think they know how to get together with someone else albeit gay or straight or pan. And honestly the worst thing one can say, like literally the worst advice you can give is this "why don't you give it sometime and love will come your way, don't worry you will find someone" now with the way the dating market is today that's the least helpful advice you can ever give, but it's not the worst thing that was said. the absolute worst thing said *again my opinion* was this "Take some time to improve yourself and soon one day you'll attract someone" I mean mo fucka wut!??
Ok I'll be honest, yes self improvement is important. People self improve themselves each and everyday, even people consider "incapable of change" but even if you improve yourself weather mentally or physically all the way to the ends of the earth I'd hate to break it to you but it attracts 0 people your way. Self improvement doesn't automatically land you a girlfriend or a boyfriend of even a friend with benefits. "So expert how did you get a boyfriend" First off I'm no expert either, everything here is opinion based, however literally all I did was just be myself, leave the house every so often for a furmeet or a con or an excursion like to the mall or movies.. simple stuff like that. Then most important actually talking to others and seeing what their interests in. Literally met my boyfriend during a furbowl I hosted and my friend pushed us together and we just clicked and by the time FWA 2022 came around we became official. So it's just up to chance but you gotta talk to people and you shouldn't have to change the way you are. change should be a choice not mandatory at least that's what I believe if you wanna date someone. So yeah it's a little bit of "special someone crossing your way" but most important is just being yourself... Comment as You see fit
